Adam Wainwright fired eight innings of one-run ball Friday in a no-decision against the Mariners. Wainwright was very solid, allowing six hits and two walks while fanning six batters. However, a solo homer by Mike Zunino in the fifth inning was enough to cost him a chance at the victory. While Waino hit a bit of a rough patch around the end of August, he has followed that up with back-to-back excellent starts. The Cardinals will hope for another big start from their ace next week when he faces the Rockies at Coors Field.
