Adam Wainwright allowed five earned runs in six innings Tuesday in the Cardinals' loss to the Padres. Wainwright actually looked sharp through the first three innings, but some bad plays defensively in the fourth seemed to throw off his rhythm and he wound up yielding five runs before recording the frame's final out. The right-hander had a 3.65 ERA on August 21. It's now 4.01. The Dodgers are up next.
