Adam Kilgore of the Washington Post reports that the Nationals have been in touch with Jeff Baker. Baker elected to become a free agent in mid-October after being designated for assignment by the Rangers. The 32-year-old utilityman hit .279/.360/.545 with 11 home runs in 74 games this past summer for Texas. Washington likes the power he can provide off the bench and his ability to play all four corner positions.
