According to SI.com's Jon Heyman, the Giants will attempt to lock up Matt Cain this offseason. The San Francisco front office is also efforting a long-term extension with Tim Lincecum. Both pitchers are set to make significant salaries in 2012, so they may prefer to continue going year-to-year. But the comfort provided by a multi-year deal could be attractive. Cain, 26, posted a sparkling 2.88 ERA and 1.08 WHIP in 33 starts this season. He can become a free agent in 2013.
