According to Nick Cafardo of the Boston Globe, free agent Roy Oswalt is "being eyed" by the Cardinals. Cafardo hears that Oswalt "would love to pitch" in St. Louis, but there's no indication of how serious talks are between the two parties. The veteran right-hander posted a 3.69 ERA and 1.34 WHIP in 23 starts last season for Philadelphia while fighting back issues. He's said to be open to a one-year deal, and is also drawing interest from the Yankees and Red Sox, among others.
