According to Mike Puma of the New York Post, David Wright is a "50-50 proposition at best" to sign a long-term extension with the Mets this offseason. Puma's source said Wright is less than thrilled with the length of contract and amount of guaranteed money the Mets have offered. Wright, who turns 30 in December, is reportedly seeking a deal of at least seven years and $125 million. Mets general manager Sandy Alderson said last week that he hopes to get some clarity on the matter by the Winter Meetings while Wright will not negotiate with the club after spring training.
