According to Jeff Passan of Yahoo! Sports, the Red Sox are "very much in" the running for Jake Peavy. Reports on Sunday pegged the A's as the favorite, but things move quickly during trade season. Peavy, 32, has posted a 4.28 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 76/17 K/BB ratio in 80 innings this summer for the last-place White Sox. He is also drawing interest from the Cardinals, Rangers and Orioles. The Braves were linked at one point as well.
