According to ESPN's Buster Olney, the Padres have "asked the Pirates for a significant package of prospects" in trade talks for third baseman Chase Headley. The same goes for every other club who has inquired about Headley this summer. The talented 28-year-old third baseman is under contractual control with San Diego through the 2014 season and has been one of the team's top all-around performers this year. The Friars are obviously not going to rush him out the door.
