According to ESPN New York's Adam Rubin, the Mets believe Mike Pelfrey has a partially torn UCL. The best way to repair such an injury is through Tommy John reconstructive elbow surgery, which would sideline Pelfrey through the early part of the 2013 season. The 28-year-old right-hander is getting a second opinion, but it sure sounds like he's done for the year. Chris Schwinden is expected to join the Mets' starting rotation on Friday in Colorado.
