The Mets are looking for insurance behind Torres, who is coming off a season that saw him hit just .221/.312/.330 with four home runs and 19 RBI. Remaining free agent options currently include Rick Ankiel, Kosuke Fukudome, Raul Ibanez and Johnny Damon, all of whom have been linked to New York this offseason.
