According to CBS Sports' Jon Heyman, the Giants and Jeremy Affeldt have agreed to a three-year contract. The deal is expected to be worth a total of $18 million. Affeldt boasts a 2.66 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 8.0 K/9 since the beginning of the 2011 season and held left-handed batters to a .236/.319/.302 slash line in 2012. The 33-year-old lefty drew "considerable interest" on the open market, says Heyman, before re-singing with San Fran.
