Starting pitcher Aaron Sanchez was released by the San Francisco Giants on Friday, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports. The Giants designated Sanchez for assignment on Sunday, and he went unclaimed on waivers. Sanchez was having his best year since winning the ERA title in 2016, pitching to a 3.06 ERA with 26 strikeouts, 15 walks, and just two home runs allowed in 35.1 innings pitched.
