A source tells Anthony DiComo of MLB.com that the Mets don't think Stephen Drew is "worth it" at his current asking price.
"At the numbers he's looking for, we don't think he's worth it compared with what we have," the source said. The team has continued to express belief in Ruben Tejada, and it appears they're comfortable going forward with Tejada at shortstop if Drew's contract demands don't come down. Drew's agent, Scott Boras, is believed to still be looking for at least a $14 million deal like the one he turned down from the Red Sox early in free agency.
