Anderson lines up for another start this weekend against Washington.

Though the young righty has six wins, he still has adjustments to make to keep runners from crossing the plate. Sunday's outing looks to be a step in the right direction for Anderson.

Anderson is projected for a road start versus the Cubs this weekend.

Anderson allowed both of his runs in the fourth inning, but he otherwise took advantage of the soft matchup to end a three-start stretch during which he had allowed at least four earned runs. His struggles had primarily been caused by the long ball, as Anderson served up a pair of home runs in each of his last two outings. However, he kept the ball in the yard Wednesday and induced seven groundball outs. Anderson has a 4.53 ERA and 50:26 K:BB across 59.2 innings on the season.

Anderson (4-3) earned the win over Colorado on Thursday, pitching six innings and allowing five runs on 10 hits and one walk while striking out nine.

This was far from Anderson's finest performance, but the right-hander hung around for 104 pitches and six innings in the hitter-friendly environment to pick up his first victory since May 4. He struck out a season-high nine batters and induced 15 swings-and-misses but gave up four runs over his final two frames. Anderson will carry a 4.70 ERA into his next start, which is expected to come at home against Oakland next week.
