Washington optioned Harvey to Triple-A Rochester on Tuesday, Matt Weyrich of NBC Sports Washington reports.
EDGE Analysis
Harvey, a 2013 first-round draft pick, is likely one of the top arms in the Washington bullpen from a talent standpoint, but myriad injury concerns have limited him to fewer than 35 regular-season innings pitched in six of the last seven campaigns. He was tending to a triceps injury earlier this spring before being waived by the Giants and subsequently claimed by the Nationals. Harvey looks to be healthy again, but Washington may want him to get some more appearances under his belt at Triple-A before considering him as an option for the big-league bullpen. The Nationals' closer picture looks unsettled at the moment, so Harvey could factor into the mix at some point if health prevails and if he's able to make bats miss at the prolific rate he did during his brief stint with Baltimore at the tail end of the 2019 season.

Harvey (triceps) is scheduled to make a relief appearance in Sunday's Grapefruit League game against the Astros, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The outing will mark Harvey's spring and Nationals debut, after he was being brought along slowly at Giants camp earlier in March before being claimed off waivers by Washington two weeks ago. Though the upcoming appearance signals that Harvey is healthy again after he finished the 2021 campaign on the Orioles' injured list with a strained right triceps, he still has a minor-league option remaining and could wind up settling at Triple-A Rochester to begin the season.

Harvey (triceps) is slated to face hitters in a live batting practice session Wednesday, Jesse Dougherty of The Washington Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Nationals picked up Harvey on March 21 via waivers after the 27-year-old right-hander was designated for assignment for the second time since the end of the 2021 season. Though the oft-injured pitcher was able to pass a physical, he's still in the process of building up after he finished last season on the injured list with a right triceps strain. Harvey has yet to make his Grapefruit League debut and could be a candidate to open the season on the 15-day injured list, but he shouldn't be sidelined for much longer than the minimum amount of time if he avoids any further setbacks.

Harvey (triceps) is expected to throw a bullpen session Thursday and could begin to throw live batting practice early next week, Jessica Camerato of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The flame-throwing right-hander has had trouble staying healthy throughout his career, an issue which caused him to get designated for assignment by the Orioles in November before spending a few months on the Giants' 40-man roster and subsequently being claimed by the Nationals this week. He's in good spirits to begin his Washington tenure, however. "I feel really good," Harvey said Wednesday. "I've been feeling good, so I'm trying to keep it that way this year and stay healthy for the full season." If the 27-year-old can stay off the injured list, his 97 mph fastball and plus curveball could allow him to claim a high-leverage role in an unsettled Nats bullpen.

Harvey (triceps) was claimed off waivers by Washington on Monday, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Harvey has plenty of talent, but injuries have wrecked his career thus far, holding the 2013 first-round pick to 23.2 career major-league innings, including 8.2 in each of the last two seasons. He's already on his third team of the offseason, as he's been waived by both the Orioles and Giants. His talent should continue to earn him chances, but his unreliability means no team is likely to be particularly invested in him.

The Giants designated Harvey (triceps) for assignment Monday, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
EDGE Analysis
San Francisco dropped the talented but injury-prone Harvey from the 40-man roster to make room for Jakob Junis, who signed a one-year, $1.75 million deal with the team. The Giants put in a waiver claim for Harvey in November with the thought that he might make for a high-upside lottery ticket out of the bullpen, but he was at major-league camp for just a few days before losing his 40-man spot. If Harvey clears waivers this time around, he'll stick in the organization and presumably open the season with the Giants' Triple-A affiliate in Sacramento.

Harvey (triceps) was claimed off waivers by the Giants on Friday, Robert Murray of FanSided.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Harvey was limited to nine games for Baltimore in 2021 due to oblique, lat and triceps injuries, and the team opted to remove him from the 40-man roster. The 26-year-old was long considered one of the Orioles' top prospects, but his professional career has been marred by a plethora or injuries, prompting the team to move on.

Harvey was transferred to the 60-day injured list with a right triceps strain Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Harvey initially landed on the 10-day injured list with a right lat strain in early July, but he's now dealing with a triceps strain. Since he's already been on the injured list for over two months, Tuesday's move to the 60-day IL won't have an impact on his return timetable. Once the 26-year-old is deemed fully healthy, he'll likely remain at Triple-A Norfolk.

Orioles manager Brandon Hyde said Friday that Harvey's (lat) return from the 60-day injured list isn't imminent, Joe Trezza of MLB.com reports. "As of right now, he's going to stay and continue to pitch [at Triple-A Norfolk]," manager Brandon Hyde said. "We'll continue to evaluate whether we're going to bring him up or not."
EDGE Analysis
Harvey is technically in the midst of a rehab assignment at Norfolk, but the Orioles apparently intend to activate him from the 10-day injured list and option him to the affiliate once his rehab window comes to a close Sept. 18. Though Harvey experienced some soreness in his strained right lat during an Aug. 24 appearance for Norfolk, he was cleared to rejoin the Triple-A bullpen a week later and was roughed up for four runs while recording only two outs. Harvey is believed to be healthy at this point, but he'll need to show improved form over an extended stretch at Triple-A before the Orioles entertain bringing him back to the big club.

Harvey (lat) experienced some soreness after his last rehab outing with Triple-A Norfolk and won't be activated from the 10-day injured list during the Orioles' upcoming road trip that begins Monday, Nathan Ruiz of The Baltimore Sun reports.
EDGE Analysis
Harvey has made three appearances during this rehab assignment with Norfolk, yielding two runs on five hits with two strikeouts in three innings. His most recent outing was Aug. 24, and it's unclear if the soreness he experienced is related to the lat strain he's recovering from or if it's a new issue.
