Harvey (illness) was present Wednesday for the Orioles' full-squad workout, but he didn't take part in any throwing, Joe Trezza of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Orioles are likely just easing Harvey back in with cardio work and fielding drills after he missed the past few days of workouts with the illness. More importantly, the oft-injured 25-year-old reported to camp without any arm-related concerns, so he looks like he'll have a legitimate chance to make the Opening Day roster for the first time. Harvey likely won't be given a look in the closer's role to begin the 2020 season, but if healthy, his big fastball could allow him to quickly claim a key late-inning role for the Orioles.

Harvey didn't throw Friday due to an illness, Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
There hasn't been any indication that the illness is serious enough to affect Harvey's preparation for the upcoming season. The righty is expected to be a full-time reliever this year and could potentially push for a high-leverage spot if he pitches well early.

Harvey is not considered a candidate for the starting rotation this spring, Rich Dubroff of BaltimoreBaseball.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Harvey has long been considered a promising arm, but he just hasn't been able to stay healthy, averaging just 37 innings per year since becoming a professional back in 2013. He moved to the bullpen upon promotion to Triple-A Norfolk last season and remained there after making his big-league debut, where he posted a 1.42 ERA and a 42.3 percent strikeout rate in a small 6.1-inning sample. Mychal Givens appears to have the inside shot to close in Baltimore this year, but Harvey could certainly make a push for saves if he looks good early in the season.

Harvey will not pitch again this season, Dan Connolly of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
The decision to shut him down is precautionary after he didn't bounce back from his last appearance (Sept. 13) as the Orioles would have hoped. He has a lengthy injury history and dealt with biceps soreness earlier this year, so it makes sense for Baltimore to play it safe. Harvey will not need to undergo any tests on his arm. He pitched 82 innings across stops at Double-A (as a starter), Triple-A and the majors (both as a reliever). The expectation is that Harvey will work as a reliever next year. He could figure into the ninth-inning mix.

Harvey (biceps) threw a scoreless inning while notching one strikeout Friday against the Tigers.
EDGE Analysis
He did not allow a hit or a walk in his first game back after missing almost two weeks with biceps soreness. Harvey should pitch in high-leverage situations over the rest of the season and could challenge Mychal Givens for saves in 2020.

Harvey (biceps) said Wednesday that he hopes to return to game action this weekend in Detroit, Joe Trezza of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander has been out of action for more than a week due to an injury, which he revealed to be biceps soreness. He made it through a 15-pitch bullpen session Tuesday and said it went well, but Harvey will be worth monitoring down the stretch after all the missed time over the years. He projects as a possible closer in 2020 if his health finally cooperates.

Harvey has been dealing with soreness and is scheduled to throw a bullpen session Tuesday, Joe Trezza of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Manager Brandon Hyde didn't disclose the location of Harvey's soreness, but the right-hander's side session Tuesday is expected to determine his availability for Baltimore's series against the Dodgers.

Harvey claimed his first big-league win after striking out two in a perfect eighth inning Tuesday in the Orioles' 4-1 win over the Royals.
EDGE Analysis
Harvey has only made two appearances since receiving the call to the big leagues last weekend and may have already secured a key late-inning role for the Orioles. He's allowed just one baserunner through his first two innings, retiring four of the seven hitters he's faced via strikeout. That small sample might be enough for Harvey to garner trust from manager Brandon Hyde while few other intriguing relief arms remain at the skipper's disposal.

Harvey was recalled from Triple-A Norfolk prior to Saturday's game in Boston.
EDGE Analysis
Once an elite pitching prospect, injuries have led to a lot of the shine coming off the 24-year-old righty. He worked as a starter at Double-A this year but has been a reliever at Triple-A, which is the role he is expected to assume in the big leagues. Harvey logged a 4.32 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 22 strikeouts in 16.2 innings with Norfolk.

Harvey has been promoted to Triple-A Norfolk, where he will pitch out of the bullpen, David Hall of The Viginian-Pilot reports.
EDGE Analysis
At this point in his development, Harvey seems more appealing as a potential closer in waiting than as a starting pitching prospect, and he will continue on that track at the highest level of the minors. Harvey pitched nine scoreless innings of relief at Double-A Bowie, allowing one hit while striking out 11. He could reach the majors late this season or early next season and could soon prove to be Baltimore's best reliever on the strength of a plus fastball and plus curveball.
