Kendrick is not starting Tuesday against St. Louis.
EDGE Analysis
Kendrick had started three straight games while Anthony Rendon battled an elbow injury, and his opportunities should continue in the near future with Rendon now on the injured list. He won't play every day, though, with Wilmer Difo getting the call at third base for Tuesday's game.

Kendrick went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in an 8-3 loss to the Padres on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran infielder went deep in the bottom of the 10th, but the Padres were already leading by six runs. This was his first homer since April 17. Kendrick has seen his batting average dip a bit over the last week, but he is still hitting .325 with four home runs, 13 RBI and 10 runs in 40 at-bats this season.

Kendrick is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Giants.
EDGE Analysis
Kendrick had started at second base in three of the past four games, with his inclusion in the lineup Wednesday coming in part because Brian Dozier was out with a sore foot. Though Dozier is back in action Thursday, his place atop the depth chart looks to be on shaky ground amid his brutal start to the season. Kendrick, meanwhile, has raked to the tune of a 1.677 OPS through 26 plate appearances. It may be tough for the Nationals to justify keeping Kendrick on the bench if Dozier doesn't get going at the plate soon.

Kendrick went 2-for-3 with a walk, a solo home run and a second run scored in Wednesday's 9-6 win over the Giants.
EDGE Analysis
The 35-year-old now has three homers on the year, all in the last seven games, and Kendrick's .500/.577/1.100 slash line since recovering from a hamstring injury is simply absurd. He's forced his way into at least a temporary timeshare with Brian Dozier at second base, and as long as Kendrick keeps raking, manager Dave Martinez will find ways to get him into the lineup.

Kendrick went 2-for-5 with a double, a run scored and an RBI in Sunday's loss to the Pirates.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran utility player has now hit safely in six straight games, including two successful pinch-hit appearances, going 8-for-14 with two homers, five RBI and seven runs over that stretch. With Brian Dozier stuck in the mud (.153/.213/.227), Kendrick could continue to see semi-regular playing time at second base in the short term to take advantage of his hot bat.

Kendrick will start at second base and bat second Sunday against the Pirates.
EDGE Analysis
Kendrick will be rewarded with his second straight start after going 1-for-2 with a solo home run and two walks in Saturday's 3-2 victory. With primary second baseman Brian Dozier slashing just .163/.217/.233 through the Nationals' first 13 games, it wouldn't be surprising if manager Dave Martinez leaned more heavily on Kendrick if Dozier fails to turn things around in his subsequent opportunities.

Kendrick went 1-for-2, hitting a go-ahead solo homer in a 3-2 victory against the Pirates on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
Adam Eaton and Kendrick went deep in back-to-back at-bats during the eighth to erase a one-run lead and give the Nationals a one-run edge heading into the ninth. Kendrick has played sparingly this season, but he is 6-for-10 (.600) with two homers, four RBI and six runs.

Kendrick will start at second base and bat second in Sunday's series finale against the Mets.
EDGE Analysis
Kendrick was activated off the 10-day injured list Thursday and will receive his first start of the season against New York righty Zack Wheeler. Kendrick slashed .303/.331/.474 in 2018 but was limited to 40 games as he suffered an Achilles injury in May.

The Nationals activated Kendrick (hamstring) from the 10-day injured list Thursday, Jesse Dougherty of The Washington Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Since he isn't an option at shortstop, Kendrick won't be a candidate to unseat Wilmer Difo at the position while Trea Turner (finger) is out indefinitely, but the veteran's return to the active roster nonetheless bolsters the Nationals' bench. Kendrick should be in line for a couple starts per week due to his ability to fill in at multiple spots in the infield and outfielder. The Nationals optioned Jake Noll to Triple-A Fresno in a corresponding move Wednesday.

Manager Davey Martinez said he expects Kendrick (hamstring) to be activated from the 10-day injured list prior to Thursday's game against the Mets, Byron Kerr of MASN Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
Kendrick has been on the shelf all season with a hamstring strain, but he's set to rejoin the Nationals when first eligible Thursday (without going on a rehab assignment). The veteran figures to fill a utility role, though Trea Turner's (finger) injury could free up additional opportunities for him in the short term.
