Gregor Blanco went 2-for-3 with two runs scored, a walk and two stolen bases in Thursday's win over the Padres. Blanco is trying to earn a bench spot with the Giants on a spring training invite, and he'll be well on his way to doing so with more afternoons like this. With speed and the ability to play all three outfield positions, he doesn't make for a bad reserve.

Giants signed OF Gregor Blanco to a minor league contract. The deal was announced by Blanco's agency, Octagon Baseball. The 27-year-old outfielder spent the entire 2011 season at the Triple-A level, batting .201/.350/.327 with three home runs, 14 RBI, 24 stolen bases and a .676 OPS over 252 plate appearances between the Royals and Nationals organizations. He has experience playing center field and also knows how to draw a walk, so it wouldn't be surprising if he cracked the Opening Day roster.
