Holmes (3-3) earned the win against the Padres on Saturday, allowing one run on six hits and one walk with six strikeouts over seven innings.
EDGE Analysis
Holmes allowed a run in the third inning but was otherwise fantastic, tossing 65 of 94 pitches for strikes with 12 whiffs. The 29-year-old has now logged quality starts in four of five May outings, issuing just one walk three times in that span. He owns a 3.68 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 55:26 K:BB across 58.2 innings and lines up for a home matchup with the Red Sox next weekend.

Holmes allowed two runs on three hits and four walks while striking out five batters over six innings in a no-decision against Boston on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
Holmes struggled with his control in the contest, throwing just 57 of 99 pitches for strikes and tying a season high with four free passes, but he mostly managed to limit the damage. The only runs against the right-hander came on a two-run blast by Jarren Duran in the third inning. Holmes finished with his second straight quality start and his third such effort in his past four outings. During that span, he's posted a 3.42 ERA along with a 23:8 K:BB across 23.2 frames. Despite the imminent return of Spencer Strider (hamstring), Holmes is set to remain in Atlanta's rotation, and his next start lines up to come at home against the Padres.

Holmes will remain in Atlanta's rotation after Bryce Elder was optioned to Triple-A Gwinnett on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
There was some speculation by David O'Brien of The Athletic that Holmes could shift to the bullpen to accommodate the return of Spencer Strider (hamstring), but ultimately the club decided to stick with Holmes in the rotation and send Elder down. Holmes has been up and down this season as a starter, posting a 4.23 ERA and 42:21 K:BB over 44.2 frames covering eight starts, but he brings more upside to the rotation than Elder. The 29-year-old Holmes' next start will come Saturday in Boston.

Holmes could be moved to the Atlanta bullpen when Spencer Strider (hamstring) returns from the 15-day injured list next week, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Manager Brian Snitker said the club will not use a six-man rotation, so it seems either Holmes or Bryce Elder will lose their spot. Elder has minor-league options remaining, so sending him to Triple-A Gwinnett is a possibility. However, Elder has been more consistent than Holmes lately, and Holmes also had lots of success in a relief role last season. Atlanta's rotation intentions should become clearer in the coming days. Currently, Holmes is lined up to start Saturday in Boston.

Holmes allowed one run on four hits and one walk while striking out four over 6.1 innings in a no-decision against the Nationals on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Holmes faced the minimum number of batters through the first three innings and his only blemish came in the fourth frame, when he yielded a solo home run to James Wood. Holmes recorded nine groundouts while generating 11 whiffs on 79 pitches (49 strikes) en route to his third quality start of the season. He has a 4.17 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 44:21 K:BB across 45.1 innings, and he's lined up to face the Red Sox on the road this weekend.

Holmes (2-3) took the loss Wednesday against the Reds after allowing four runs on seven hits and one walk in 5.1 innings. He struck out five.
EDGE Analysis
After setting a career high with nine punchouts in his last start, Holmes wasn't nearly as effective Wednesday. Although his one walk marked a season low among his seven starts, the right-hander surrendered a season-high seven hits and gave up greater than three runs for the third time this year. Holmes has also conceded six home runs over his past three outings. He'll take a pedestrian 4.58 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 40:20 K:BB across 39.1 innings in 2025 into his next scheduled start, currently set to come versus the Nationals next week.

Holmes (2-2) took the loss Friday against the Dodgers after allowing two runs on four hits and two walks in six innings. He struck out nine.
EDGE Analysis
Holmes established a career high with nine punchouts, generating 15 whiffs against a fearsome Dodgers lineup. The right-hander's two walks also tied a season low among his six starts this year. Holmes has a middling 4.24 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 35:19 K:BB over 34 innings, but he's given up just three runs to go with a 22:10 K:BB across 15.2 frames at home this year. His favorable splits at Truist Park will be tested next week at home versus versus the Reds, who notably sport a .788 OPS through 16 games on the road in 2025.

Holmes allowed six runs on five hits and three walks while striking out four over 5.2 innings in a no-decision versus Arizona on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
Holmes allowed three of the four homers Eugenio Suarez swatted in the 19th four-homer performance in major-league history. Luckily for Holmes, he did a somewhat decent job of keeping Arizona off base -- two of Suarez's homers off him were solo shots. Prior to Saturday, Holmes hadn't dealt with too much trouble keeping the ball down, but he has walked three or more batters in four of his five starts this season. The 29-year-old right-hander is now at a 4.50 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 26:17 K:BB across 28 innings over six appearances in 2025. Holmes' spot in the rotation looks safe for now, as Atlanta is missing Spencer Strider (hamstring) and Reynaldo Lopez (shoulder). However, Holmes is a risky fantasy option in his next projected start, which is lined up to be at home versus the Dodgers.

Holmes (2-1) earned the win against the Twins on Sunday, allowing one run on four hits and four walks with seven strikeouts over 5.2 innings.
EDGE Analysis
Holmes wasn't particularly efficient, throwing just 58 of 105 pitches for strikes and generating only 10 whiffs. He's issued four walks in three of his four starts this season but has also allowed three earned runs or fewer three times. As a result, the 29-year-old owns a 3.22 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 22:14 K:BB across 22.1 innings. He'll aim for a third straight win in a tough matchup with the Diamondbacks next weekend.

Holmes (1-1) yielded three runs on two hits and two walks over 7.2 innings Monday, striking out four and earning a win over the Blue Jays.
EDGE Analysis
Holmes was perfect through four innings and did not allow a hit until Myles Straw's solo homer in the sixth. Toronto then plated two more runs in the eighth. Holmes threw 63 of 94 pitches for strikes in the longest start of his MLB career. Through four outings this season, he owns a 3.78 ERA with a 15:10 K:BB. Holmes is currently in line for a home matchup with the Twins this weekend.
