Cole allowed five runs on eight hits and two walks across 6.1 innings in a no-decision Monday against the Dodgers. He struck out seven.
EDGE Analysis
Cole was terrific through six innings before unraveling in the seventh, when he allowed five runs on four hits and a walk, including a grand slam from Curtis Granderson. The 26-year-old threw seven consecutive quality starts leading up to last week's outing against the Brewers, but he has allowed nine runs over his last 12.1 innings to inflate his ERA back up to 4.16. One positive for Cole of late has been his 9.7 K/9 over the last seven starts, spanning 46.1 innings. He will look to get back on track Saturday against the Reds.

Cole gave up four runs on five hits -- including three home runs -- over six innings in a no-decision against the Brewers on Wednesday. He struck out nine and walked two.
EDGE Analysis
Cole had gotten the better of Milwaukee on three prior occasions this season, but he struggled with the long ball in this one, serving up round-trippers to Keon Broxton, Neil Walker and Travis Shaw. With that, Cole's streak of seven consecutive quality starts was snapped. Cole lines up for two starts next week -- first the Dodgers at home and then the Reds in Cincinnati.

Cole (10-8) allowed three runs on six hits and one walk while striking out seven over eight innings to earn the win over Detroit on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Cole endured three separate seven-run blowups in June, but he's been excellent over the past month and a half, turning in seven straight quality starts with a 46:10 K:BB over that span (46 innings). He's pitching like his old self, and while his next scheduled start at Milwaukee looks tough at a glance, he's dominated the Brewers in three meetings so far this season (three earned runs, 23:4 K:BB in 21 innings).

Cole (9-8) allowed three runs on eight hits and two walks while striking out five across six innings to take the loss Saturday against the Padres.
EDGE Analysis
Cole entered the fifth inning with a 1-0 deficit before Wil Myers connected on a two-run homer, leading to the hurler's eighth loss of the campaign. This was the first time he's allowed more than two runs in a start since June 30, and he's lowered his ERA by more than half a run since that time. He'll make his next start Thursday against the Tigers.

Cole (9-7) held the Padres to one run on five hits with two walks and eight strikeouts over seven innings in Sunday's 7-1 win.
EDGE Analysis
Cole took advantage of the league's least dangerous lineup, as his only blemish came on a home run by shortstop Dusty Coleman. The 26-year-old right-hander has put together an excellent stretch except for a June 30 outlier against the Giants, with a 6-1 record and eight quality starts in his past nine outings. He'll get a great opportunity to stay hot in his next start with a Saturday home rematch against this same San Diego team.

Cole (8-7) allowed two runs over six innings during Monday's win over the Giants. He allowed six hits and four walks while striking out four to pick up his 8th win of the season.
EDGE Analysis
After issuing just one walk over his previous three starts, Cole had trouble commanding his pitches Monday as he worked up a season-high pitch count of 115 through six innings. Despite the fact that he also issued a season-high four free passes, the 26-year-old was able to work out of trouble to earn his fourth consecutive quality start. Cole's next start projects to be against the Padres on Sunday.

Cole struck out 10 over seven innings of one-run ball against Milwaukee on Wednesday, only to settle for a no-decision. He gave up six hits and didn't walk anyone.
EDGE Analysis
This marks Cole's first double-digit-whiff outing of the year, and he's pulling his numbers back in a positive direction after a handful of rough outings derailed his 2017 to some degree. The talented righty's ERA is still rather high at 4.18, but if you take out the four-start stretch in late May and early June that saw him give up 23 runs in 19.1 innings, Cole has otherwise given up 33 earned runs in 101.1 frames -- a 2.93 ERA. Look for the 26-year-old to carry forward his strong start to the season's second half; fortunately, his turn in the rotation won't come up in this weekend's series at Coors Field. Instead, he'll next start Monday at San Francisco.

Cole (7-7) allowed two runs on four hits while striking out four across six innings, but received no-decision Friday against the Cardinals.
EDGE Analysis
Cole gave up a two-run homer in the first inning, but settled down nicely as he posted a quality start. He's turned around his season lately while holding opponents to two or fewer earned runs in five of his last six outings to lower his ERA from 4.83 to 4.35, and he's re-emerged as a player who can be safely trusted in fantasy lineups. He'll make his next start Wednesday against the Brewers.

Cole (7-7) struck out eight while holding the Phillies to two runs on seven hits and a walk in Wednesday's 5-2 win.
EDGE Analysis
He's now won four of his last five starts, but Cole gave up seven runs in the other one -- a stretch that's fairly emblematic of his 2017 to this point. Cole may be one of the highest-upside pitchers around, but he's taken a turn for the inconsistent since going 19-8 with a 2.60 ERA and 1.09 WHIP back in 2015. Still, he's gotten unlucky in terms of HR/FB rate this year (it's a career-high 17.9 percent), and some positive regression on that front will help his stats normalize. Cole will probably start the Pirates' first game after the All-Star break, July 14 against the Cardinals.

Cole (6-7) allowed seven runs on 10 hits and two walks while striking out seven over 5.1 innings to take the loss Friday against the Giants.
EDGE Analysis
Cole entered the fourth inning with a 3-2 lead, but he was then lit up for five more runs before being forced from the contest. He came into this contest having allowed just one run in each of his last three starts, but he's also allowed seven runs in three of his last six outings, and his ERA sits at 4.51. His massive swings of inconsistency have been maddening to fantasy owners, making him a risk/reward lineup option. He'll make his next start Wednesday against the Phillies.
