After Springer was struck on the left ear flap of his helmet by a sinker in Monday's 11-4 loss to Baltimore, he ended up sitting out both ends of a doubleheader Tuesday. He'll remain out of the lineup for a third straight game Wednesday, but Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca relays that Springer's condition is improving, and the 35-year-old was spotted doing some running on the field prior to the contest. Springer isn't likely to be available off the bench Wednesday, but with a team off day on tap Thursday, he could be ready to rejoin the starting nine for Friday's series opener versus the Royals.

Springer exited Monday's loss to the Orioles in the top of the ninth inning after he was hit by a pitch in the head, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Springer took a 96 mph sinker from Kade Strowd off the side of the helmet. Manager John Schneider and the Toronto training staff immediately ran onto the field, and Springer was able to get up under his own power before walking off with the trainer. Leo Jimenez ran for Springer, who went 0-for-3 with the HBP, one walk and one run scored prior to his exit.
