Southpaw Shota Imanaga is taking the mound for Chicago, so it's not a surprise that Sheets finds himself on the bench. He has a 1.196 OPS through 19 plate appearances, all but one of which have come against right-handed pitching. Yuli Gurriel will bat sixth as the designated hitter, as the pair continue to platoon at the position.

Sheets has started the last three games at DH against right-handed pitching. He's responded well to the opportunity, going 4-for-11 with a home run to start the campaign. Playing the strong side of a platoon, Sheets should offer decent fantasy value in a high-powered Padres lineup.

The former White Sox player figures to see regular playing time for the Friars against right-handed pitching as long as he's slugging.

The hot spring stretch has significantly increased his likelihood of making the Opening Day roster, though several of the players he's competing with for one of the Padres' bench spots -- including Eguy Rosario, Tirso Ornelas and Brandon Lockridge -- have also played well this spring.
