Phillips was optioned to the Orioles' alternate training site Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
Phillips pitched effectively during his most recent stint with the major-league club as he tossed 3.1 scoreless innings with three strikeouts over three appearances. He'll continue to develop at the alternate training site but could return to the major-league bullpen if injuries occur.

Phillips was recalled from the Orioles' alternate training site Saturday when Shawn Armstrong (back) was placed on the 10-day injured list, Joe Trezza of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Phillips already had a run with the Orioles before he was sent down to their alternate site Aug. 17. He went 1-1 in eight appearances while allowing five runs on nine hits and seven walks with nine strikeouts across 7.2 innings. He should fill in as a middle reliever for the Orioles until Armstrong is ready to return.

Phillips was optioned to the Orioles' secondary training site Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Phillips owns an unremarkable 5.87 ERA and 2.09 WHIP in 7.2 innings of relief this season, with his 17.5 percent walk rate standing out as his primary problem. Dillon Tate (forearm) was activated from the injured list in a corresponding move and will take his place in the bullpen.

Phillips (1-1) was tagged with the loss Thursday against the Marlins after giving up two runs on two hits across one inning.
EDGE Analysis
Phillips entered the game ahead of the sixth inning and, while he was able to record the three outs, the wheels came off in the seventh -- he left the game with runners in the corners and no outs. Both runners would come around to score, tagging the 25-year-old right-hander with his first loss of the season. He has now allowed five earned runs in 4.2 innings across four appearances in 2020.

Phillips (1-0) tossed one scoreless inning Sunday as he earned the win against the Rays. He allowed no hits and no walks while striking out one.
EDGE Analysis
Phillips had allowed runs in each of his first two appearances this season, but he held the Rays scoreless Sunday and was rewarded with the first win of his career. However, the 25-year-old doesn't carry much fantasy upside as a middle reliever who usually struggles to limit run production.

Phillips (elbow) was added to Baltimore's 60-player roster pool Friday and will throw live batting practice in a few days, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 25-year-old was shut down from throwing in early March and wasn't included on the team's initial 60-man pool, but it appears he progressed well in his recovery during the hiatus. Phillips made 25 appearances in the majors last season but mostly struggled with a 6.43 ERA, 1.86 WHIP and 40:20 K:BB over 28 innings.

Phillips (elbow) will be shut down from throwing for a few weeks, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Phillips visited Dr. Neal ElAttrache for a second opinion on his elbow Thursday and received relatively good news, but he's still about a month away from being cleared to pitch. The 25-year-old was attempting to secure a spot in the Opening Day bullpen, but he's now unlikely to see game action until mid-April.

Phillips has a sore right elbow and will get a second opinion, Rich Dubroff of BaltimoreBaseball.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Manager Brandon Hyde told Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com that the MRI "showed OK" but that he will still need a second opinion. It's always ominous when a pitcher needs a second opinion on an elbow injury, so for now we will consider Phillips out indefinitely.

Phillips will be recalled by the Orioles on Tuesday, Nathan Ruiz of The Baltimore Sun reports.
EDGE Analysis
Phillips has pitched quite poorly in 19.1 innings for the Orioles this season, posting an 8.84 ERA and a 2.22 WHIP. He's been much better in 39.2 frames for Triple-A Norfolk, recording a 3.86 ERA and a 1.33 WHIP.

Phillips was optioned to Triple-A Norfolk following Monday's doubleheader against the Yankees. He allowed three runs on two hits and two walks while striking out two over one inning prior to the demotion.
EDGE Analysis
Phillips was promoted to the big leagues ahead of Monday's twin bill, but his time with the Orioles didn't last long. He now owns an 8.84 ERA with 29 strikeouts over 19.1 innings this season in the majors.
