Infielder Busts Who’ll Keep Junking It Up in 2019 rotoballer.com Wed 3/6/19 6:15 AM
Every year in fantasy baseball we do our best to try and avoid the players who are going to be a big-time disappointment on our rosters. Its the purpose of most preseason articles to sift through the vast array of major-league talent and try and pick out who will repeat, rebound, or regress. The sleeper is the most popular coined term in the fantasy game, and we all love our favorites in that category annually. For every sleeper in baseball, there is a bust, and knowing these players is just as [...]

Shortstop - Early Points Leagues Rankings and Tiers rotoballer.com Mon 2/4/19 6:30 AM
Its never too early to start looking toward the fantasy baseball season, so Im here to carry on RotoBallers position-by-position rankings analysis series for points leaguesand head-to-head (H2H) formats with the stars of the infield, the shortstops. The position is star-studded, and in roto leagues I think I'd be comfortable with any of the top 20 names on this list. Unfortunately, the position gets pretty scarce in points leagues due to the majority's lack of power and walks. In points leagues [...]
ADP Champs or Chumps - Eduardo Escobar and Paul DeJong rotoballer.com Tue 1/29/19 6:30 AM
In the past two years, baseball has seen an explosion in the number of shortstops with legitimate home run power. Everyone from Francisco Lindor to Tim Anderson seems capable of belting 20 dingers on an annual basis. Most of those players are being drafted in the first 10 rounds or so, but both of our players for this column, Eduardo Escobar and Paul DeJong, are currently projected for over 20 HR but are going after the 150th selection in fantasy drafts. In many leagues, Eduardo Escobar went larg[...]

Elvis Andrus 2019 Outlook: He Might Have Become Old Quickly rotoballer.com Tue 1/1/19 4:17 PM
Elvis Andrus was one of 2017's more surprising 20 HR hitters, so fantasy owners probably weren't too surprised to see his total regress to six last year. His HR/FB slipped from his career best of 11.6% in 2017 to 5.8% last season, a rate that just won't produce much power when paired with a 31.1 percent fly ball rate. Andrus also set career-worsts in IFFB% (12.6%) and LD% (19%) last season that dragged his overall batting line to .256/.308/.367, a far cry from the .297/.337/.471 he posted in 20[...]
Elvis Andrus Won't Opt Out Of Deal rotoballer.com Mon 10/29/18 3:48 PM
Texas Rangers shortstop Elvis Andrus will not use his opt-out clause in his contract and leave behind the four years and $58 million left on his current deal. Andrus has another opt-out clause for the 2020 season, so he's hoping to improve his value after disappointing in 2018 while missing time with a fractured elbow. The shortstop hit only .256/.308/.367 with six home runs, 33 RBI and five stolen bases in 97 games after hitting .297 with a career-high 20 home runs, 88 RBI and 25 stolen bases [...]
