After both teams failed to score in the first inning, Rios gave Los Angeles an early lead with his three-run shot to right field in the second. The long ball was his fifth over his past 12 games and sixth overall on the campaign. Rios' hot bat has led to him seeing more playing time of late, and he's slashing .311/.354/.667 across 12 contests since May 9.

Rios will bat cleanup as the Dodgers' designated hitter in Monday's game against the Nationals.
EDGE Analysis
After smashing a solo home run and drawing two walks in Sunday's 4-3 win over the Phillies while starting in place of a resting Chris Taylor, Rios will stick in the lineup for a second straight game as the Dodgers open a three-game set in Washington. Justin Turner will be getting the day off to clear room in the lineup for Rios, who owns an excellent .935 OPS over a small sample of 48 plate appearances this season.

EDGE Analysis
Rios didn't play in Game 1 of the twin bill, but he started at DH in in the nightcap before moving to third base in the ninth inning. The slugger made the most of his lone hit, drilling a three-run homer to left field in the second inning. Rios went 1-for-4 with a double and three RBI on Wednesday against the Pirates.
EDGE Analysis
Rios came to the plate with the bases loaded in the seventh inning and drove in all three runners with a double. He played in each of the team's three games in Pittsburgh and delivered two home runs, a double and seven RBI. With Chris Taylor (knee) back in action, Rios is likely to return to a minimal role, though he has shown the ability to produce when given the chance.

Rios went 3-for-5 with a home run, two runs scored and three RBI in Tuesday's 11-1 win over the Pirates.
EDGE Analysis
He took Beau Sulser deep in the seventh inning for a two-run shot, capping the scoring on the night for the Dodgers. It was Rios' first start since April 27, and despite a .310/.333/.621 slash line in 30 plate appearances with three homers, the 28-year-old will likely continue to struggle to earn consistent playing time in a loaded lineup.

The Dodgers managed only four hits in the contest on were on the verge of being shut out until Rios went deep to center field off David Bednar in the ninth inning. The long ball was Rios' second of the campaign. He hasn't had many opportunities to play thus far, logging just 25 plate appearances over Los Angeles' first 27 games.

Manager Dave Roberts said he expects to include Rios in the lineup at designated hitter in the Dodgers' series opener Monday versus Atlanta, Eric Stephen of SBNation.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Roberts didn't specify which member of the Dodgers' star-studded everyday lineup will be sitting Monday, but Max Muncy and Justin Turner have primarily rotated between DH and third base this season, making one of the two the logical candidate to sit. Rios has picked up two starts at DH to date, going 2-for-8 with a run.

Rios will make the Dodgers' Opening Day roster, Eric Stephen of SBNation.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Previous reports indicated that Rios would likely begin the season in the big leagues, and that's now been confirmed. He doesn't seem to have a path to a starting role, but the Dodgers like to give their players' plenty of rest, so he should feature fairly often. That of course assumes he hits better than the .078/.217/.137 line he managed in 60 trips to the plate last season. If his 1.272 OPS through 10 spring games is any indication, that shouldn't be a problem. Rios is talented enough to earn more playing time as the season goes on.
