The Nationals placed Crews on the 10-day injured list Wednesday with a left oblique strain.
EDGE Analysis
Crews suffered the injury on a check swing during Tuesday's game against Atlanta. The severity of the strain has not been revealed, so it's difficult to say at this juncture how much time Crews might miss. Robert Hassell was called up from Triple-A Rochester to take Crews' spot on the roster and could get a long look in the Nationals outfield, especially with Jacob Young (shoulder) also banged up. Alex Call should also see an uptick in playing time.

Crews was removed from Tuesday's game against Atlanta with a left lower-back injury, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Crews aggravated his back on a check swing during his at-bat in the fifth inning, and he was replaced on defense to start the sixth. The 23-year-old said after the game that his injury is something he's been playing through for about a week, and he's scheduled to receive an MRI to determine if it's a structural issue. He can be considered day-to-day until the results of his tests come back.

Crews went 2-for-4 with a three-run home run in Sunday's 10-4 win over the Orioles.
EDGE Analysis
Crews smacked a three-run homer in the second inning and added a single in the fourth. While the 23-year-old has provided two home runs and five steals in May, he's gone just 8-for-53 with 17 strikeouts. He's slashing .191/.257/.331 with six long balls, 14 RBI, 23 runs scored and 11 steals across 171 plate appearances this season, and the Nationals appear content to let him work through his growing pains at the plate.

Crews went 1-for-3 with a walk, an RBI and a stolen base in Monday's loss to Atlanta.
EDGE Analysis
The second overall pick in the 2023 First-year Player Draft has been as advertised on the basepaths, with Monday's steal being his 10th (in 11 attempts) in 39 games this season. Crews has also hit five homers, but a 27.8 percent strikeout rate against a 5.3 percent walk rate has held back his overall offensive game, leaving him with a .186/.245/.321 slash line.

Crews went 3-for-4 with a triple and three runs scored in Friday's 5-4 win over the Mets.

Crews got the Nats' rally started in the ninth with a leadoff triple off Ryne Stanek, eventually scoring the tying run on Jose Tena's single. After a slow start to the year, Crews now has hits in nine of his last 10 games -- he's gone 13-for-37 (.351) with a 1.044 OPS in that span. EDGE Analysis
Crews extended the Nationals' lead to six runs in the sixth inning, when he belted a 429-foot solo homer off Dean Kremer. That home run extended Crews' hitting streak to seven games, and over that span he has gone 9-for-27 with three stolen bases, eight runs scored, three home runs and five RBI.

Crews went 3-for-5 with two home runs, a double, four RBI and four runs scored in Saturday's 12-11 win over the Rockies.
EDGE Analysis
Crews launched his first two home runs of the season, both clearing 400 feet. It was a much needed breakout effort for the 23-year-old, and he has now hit safely in four straight games without striking out. While he's still hitting an uninspiring .177 with two homers, four RBI, 11 runs scored and four steals across 65 plate appearances, Saturday's performance offered a glimpse of his potential to turn things around.
