The Rangers optioned Harris (oblique) to Triple-A Round Rock on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Harris received an invite to big-league camp as one of the organization's top prospects and went 3-for-10 with a double and two RBI through five games, but he's been sidelined by an oblique issue for the past week. The 24-year-old didn't have a realistic chance of making the Opening Day roster regardless of the injury, and he'll now shift over to minor-league camp.

Rangers manager Bruce Bochy said that Harris was scratched from the lineup for Thursday's Cactus League game against the Brewers due to "a little soreness in the oblique area," Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Harris, who has gone 3-for-10 with a double and two RBI through his first five spring training games, was slated to start in left field and bat seventh Thursday before he developed the oblique issue. Though Bochy seemed to downplay any concern about the injury, given the tendency of oblique issues to linger, it wouldn't be surprising if Harris was held out for the next several days. Harris was a standout performer between the Double-A and Triple-A levels in 2023 and already possesses a spot on the 40-man roster, but with fellow prospects Evan Carter and Wyatt Langford seemingly ahead of him in the outfield pecking order, Harris is likely to return to Triple-A Round Rock to begin the 2024 season.

Harris was promoted to Triple-A Round Rock on Tuesday, Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News reports.
EDGE Analysis
Harris had a slow April for Double-A Frisco but had an .827 OPS with 11 steals over the last month for the RoughRiders. He went 2-for-3 with a double, a home run and two additional runs scored in his first game with the Express.

The Rangers optioned Harris to Double-A Frisco on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Texas initially planned to have Harris report to Triple-A Round Rock after he was optioned out of big-league camp earlier this month, but he'll end up making a return trip to Frisco, where he spent the entire 2022 campaign. The 23-year-old outfielder, who was added to the 40-man roster over the winter, likely won't have to wait long to get his first taste of Triple-A. He was productive over his 86 games with Frisco a season ago, slashing .259/.346/.485 with 18 home runs and 19 stolen bases in 387 plate appearances.

Harris has a spectacular .432/.469/.743 line with six homers, four steals, 19 RBI and 19 runs across his first 19 games for High-A Hickory.
EDGE Analysis
Sure, that comes with a .464 BABIP, which has to come down, but Harris also crushed in Low-A -- .301/.389/.483 with 10 homers and 20 steals in 73 games. An unusual sort of first-base prospect because of his strong base-stealing ability, Harris came into this season with major questions about his ability to tap into his considerable raw power, but he's laying those to rest. At this rate, the 22-year-old should open next year in Double-A, with a debut sometime during the summer not impossible.
