Jameson has struggled to the tune of an 11.05 ERA, 2.25 WHIP and 11:14 K:BB through four starts since being promoted to Triple-A Reno.
EDGE Analysis
That's certainly a far cry from the 2.41 ERA and 0.93 WHIP he put up across four Double-A outings before getting promoted. It's hard to find positives in any of his outings for Reno thus far; in the best one, May 19 against Las Vegas, he at least managed to last into the sixth inning, though he still gave up four runs and struck out just four with three walks. This will certainly slow his progression to the big leagues, but it's worth noting that Jameson has great stuff and adjusted brilliantly after being blown up in his first Double-A start of the season. He's likely to get right as he adapts to the higher level of competition in Triple-A.

The Diamondbacks promoted Jameson from Double-A Amarillo to Triple-A Reno on Thursday, Zach Buchanan of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Jameson quickly course corrected after a rough season debut April 8 against Midland, as he permitted just one run while striking out 20 over his last 17 innings spanning three starts. The string of strong outings will allow Jameson to move up a rung on the minor-league ladder to put him on the doorstep for his MLB debut. The 8-11 Diamondbacks likely don't fancy themselves as contenders, and that fact coupled with Jameson's status as a non-40-man roster player means that he may have to dominate at Reno to earn a call-up to the majors in the second half of the 2022 campaign.

Jameson allowed a run on one hit and struck out three over two innings to earn a save in Monday's spring training game against the Dodgers.
EDGE Analysis
The right-handed Jameson, picked 34th overall in 2019 by Arizona, hit 100 mph multiple times during his first Cactus League appearance, per Nick Piecoro of the Arizona Republic. "His command of the baseball, that's the thing that stands out to me more than anything else," manager Torey Lovullo said of Jameson. "It's 100 with command... There's a lot of weapons there. He's pitching, not just throwing." Jameson had a 3.98 ERA and 1.21 WHIP with 145 strikeouts and 36 walks over a combined 110.2 innings (21 appearances, 20 starts) at High-A Hillsboro and Double-A Amarillo in 2021.

Jamison has a 1.98 ERA, 0.85 WHIP and 41:6 K:BB in 27.1 innings since his promotion to Double-A Amarillo.
EDGE Analysis
He's tossed seven-plus innings in three straight starts and has recorded double-digit whiffs three times in his four Double-A outings. Jameson wasn't quite this good in High-A, where he put up a 3.92 ERA and 1.22 WHIP, but those season-long stats obscure the fact that he put up a 1.69 ERA and 0.99 WHIP in his last six outings for Hillsboro before being promoted. The 23-year-old righty out of Ball State was a first-round pick in 2019, and he's suddenly not too far off from the majors. We almost certainly won't see him come up this year, but a promotion in the middle of next season is quite possible if he keeps pitching this well.
