Rasmussen is expected to begin the season at the Brewers' alternate training site, but he could still make his MLB debut this season, Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
EDGE Analysis
As Haudricourt notes, the hard-throwing righty still needs development. He has never pitched above Double-A and had an 11.4 percent walk rate at that level last year. Rasmussen's upper-90s fastball could earn him low-leverage chances as the Brewers cycle in fresh relievers this season.

Rasmussen will attend Summer Camp with the Brewers.
EDGE Analysis
The Brewers optioned Rasmussen to the minors in early March, but he will get another shot to make the cut. Rasmussen's season will likely begin at the Brewers' alternate training site, but his inclusion among the team's initial 45-man roster suggests he could make his major-league debut in 2020 even if he does not break camp with the big club.

Rasmussen was reassigned to minor-league camp Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Rasmussen spent a few weeks with the big club this spring, but that was mainly to get him some opportunities against top competition, and he was destined to begin the season in the minors anyway. It remains to be seen which level he will open at and whether he will work as a starter or reliever, but he has the stuff to pitch in the big leagues in some capacity, and he'll boost his chances of doing so sooner than later with a quality campaign.

Rasmussen is pitching with the big-league club for the first time this spring and has thrown two scoreless innings thus far.
EDGE Analysis
Rasmussen is one of the Brewers' more intriguing prospects, given that he was a first-round selection in 2017 -- he ultimately did not sign that year -- and throws a 99-mph fastball. He started in the minors last year, but he was limited to no more than 4.1 innings in a game coming off two Tommy John surgeries, so it remains to be seen if he will stick in that role. Should he end up in relief, though, his heater should be enough to get him a shot at the top level at some point.
