Diego Castillo 2020 Outlook: Plenty of Strikeouts in an Undefined Role rotoballer.com Wed 2/19/20 12:17 PM

Tampa Bay Rays relief pitcher Diego Castillo is a strange fantasy asset because of his role in the Tampa Bay bullpen. Castillo has worked as an opener often in the past two seasons, recording 17 "starts" without ever really being a starting pitcher. Castillo consistently puts up solid strikeout numbers and good ERAs, but his role as an opener limits his upside in holds leagues, and he is somewhat behind on the closer totem pole. Still, he has the talent to make an impact in deeper formats.

Rays Down Astros 4-1 to Force Game 5 rotoballer.com Wed 10/9/19 8:47 AM

The Rays bullpen stepped up huge, allowing just one run over nine innings of work. Diego Castillo started it off, but Ryan Yarbrough and Nick Anderson did the bulk of the work. Blake Snell came in for two batters in the ninth and closed it out with runners on first and third. On offense, the Rays scored three of their four runs in the first inning off of Justin Verlander. He calmed down, but the Astros were never able to make up the deficit. This series will go to Game 5 in Houston on Thursday ...

Diego Castillo Strikes out Three in 1.2 Innings rotoballer.com Tue 10/8/19 9:12 PM

Castillo wasnt asked to do much tonight, but he did his job. He struck out three batters, walked one and gave up a single. The Astros had already planned to bring Yarbrough in when Reddick was coming to the plate, so he got to face a lefty and so Castillo didnt have to see anyone for a second time. The Rays currently lead 3-0 and are fighting for a game 5 in Houston.

The Rays will toss Diego Castillo our there for two or three innings before handing the ball to one of the best bullpens in baseball. They are pretty tired, but theres no time for that right now. Its playoff baseball and all hands are on deck. Theyll certainly need to be if the Rays have any hope of slowing down

After being hit and running the bases, Urshela played another half inning of defense before being substituted out. Urshela has been in a slump as of late, going o-for-19 in his last six games, but he has been a surprising source of offense for the Yankees in 2019. More won't be known until the results of ...
