Norris is not in the lineup for game one of Wednesday's doubleheader.
EDGE Analysis
After playing in nine straight games, it's not unusual to see a catcher get a day off, and when a doubleheader is thrown in the mix, it is even more predictable. Christian Bethancourt will be behind the plate in game one.

Norris went 1-for-3 with a solo homer in Sunday's 3-1 loss to the Dodgers.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran backstop was the only Padres hitter to break through against the dominating Kenta Maeda on the afternoon, launching a 422-foot solo shot off of him in the fifth inning. Although he's made solid contributions in the power department, Norris is still hitting 30 points below his career .242 average, but is on pace to blow past the career-best 14 homers he hit in 2015.

He will bat seventh against right-hander Brandon McCarthy on Saturday. Norris is hitting just .193/.251/.386 against right-handed pitching this season, down from .237/.291/.387 in 2015.

Norris (elbow) will undergo precautionary X-rays, although the Padres don't believe the injury to be serious, Dennis Lin of the San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
Norris was hit in his left elbow with the follow-through of a bat during Monday's game against Arizona, and the bat apparently struck a nerve. If Norris is forced to miss time, Christian Bethancourt will be the clear option to fill in behind the plate.

Norris is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Orioles.
EDGE Analysis
Christian Bethancourt will take over behind the plate as Norris is afforded a bit of an extended rest after starting four straight and eight of nine. The Padres were off Monday. Norris is batting .274/.321/.507 this month and is now up to 10 homers for the season, putting him inside the top-12 among catchers in earned fantasy value to this point.

Norris is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Orioles.
EDGE Analysis
Norris will get a standard day of rest after playing in four straight games. The 27-year-old has been solid offensively thus far, hitting nine home runs to go along with 22 RBI and 29 runs scored. His lowly .214 batting average could be a result of a little bit of bad luck, as his .248 BABIP is relatively low for MLB hitters, and he will look to inch closer to his career .243 mark as the season goes on.
