Derek Lowe pitched very well against the Royals on Tuesday, allowing just one run on eight hits over six innings.
Lowe struck out five and walked only one in the game. He now sits at 3-1 as an Indian with a very respectable 3.00 ERA. He'll look to continue his strong start to the season when he takes on the struggling Angels on Sunday.

Derek Lowe got roughed up for four runs on eight hits and six walks in 4 1/3 innings of Wednesday's loss to the Mariners.
He notched zero strikeouts. It took three outings, but the 2011 Lowe finally surfaced for the Indians. He served up a pair of first inning home runs to Chone Figgins and Ichiro Suzuki. Lowe's ERA remains a solid 3.50 through his first 18 innings of work, but his WHIP (1.72) and K/BB ratio (3/7) are far more ominous. He's rapidly shaping up as a no-go for mixed leaguers.

Derek Lowe yielded three runs in 6 2/3 innings Friday in a victory over the Royals.
The Indians got Lowe seven runs in the top of the first, and Lowe made it hold up, even though he allowed 11 hits in his 6 2/3 innings. The important thing was that none were homers and he didn't walk anyone. Lowe is 2-0 with a 1.98 ERA.

Derek Lowe turned in an excellent Indians debut Sunday, allowing just two unearned runs on five hits and one walk in seven innings of Cleveland's 4-3 win over the Blue Jays.
Lowe's spring rib cage injury was not an issue as he needed only 95 pitches to record his 21 outs. He tallied just one strikeout in the process, but punchouts have never been Lowe's game. He's worth a season-opening flier in 12-14 team mixed leagues.

Derek Lowe (back) does not expect to begin the season on the disabled list.
"I'm a durable cat," Lowe said Friday. "Nine lives." Despite his color pronouncement, Lowe is unsure if he'll be able to make his scheduled Tuesday start in an exhibition game against High-A Carolina. His status should be updated early next week.

Derek Lowe is questionable to make his final exhibition start after feeling pain in his right rib cage area during Thursday's start.
It was first reported as a back injury, but Lowe has clarified things. He's never been on the disabled list in his 15 major league seasons, and he doesn't think he'll need a stint this time, either. We'll have to see how he progresses over the next week, though.

Derek Lowe left his start Thursday after three innings due to back spasms.
It was originally speculated that Lowe might have been a little under the weather, but evidently he had a minor back issue. The good news, though, is that he's expected to be fine. "If this was the regular season, he could have kept pitching," said Indians manager Manny Acta. "But this is not the time to pushing through stuff like that." Lowe has never been on the DL in his 15 seasons, and this isn't going to be the injury to break that streak.

Derek Lowe permitted two runs on three hits while striking out two over three innings Thursday against the Rockies.
The veteran right-hander's outing was cut short because he was a little under the weather, but he'll be fine. Lowe holds a 3.50 ERA over five starts this spring and will be counted on to provide innings this season for the Tribe.

Derek Lowe held the Dodgers to two runs -- one earned -- over six innings Saturday in a spring start.
Lowe yielded seven hits, but he operated well in damage control, issuing no walks and fanning four Los Angeles batters. The veteran right-hander is sporting a cool 3.00 ERA and 1.20 ERA through four Cactus starts.

Derek Lowe held the Giants to one run on two hits and a walk over four innings Wednesday.
He didn't strike anyone out and has a 1/3 K/BB ratio in nine spring innings, but overall he's pitched pretty well in two of three outings. The Indians are counting on Lowe to provide steady innings this season for their rotation, and he's nothing if not an innings-eater. The 39-year-old is likely to have more real life than fantasy value.
