Law has pitched well enough during Graperfruit League play to potentially garner an Opening Day bullpen spot, manager Rocco Baldelli told MLB.com. Law has thrown six scoreless innings with 10 strikeouts and one walk this spring.
EDGE Analysis
Law would seem to be a longshot, but the Twins may have found a way to improve his mechanics. Law didn't receive a call-up to the majors at any point in 2020 after being included in the Rangers' 60-man player pool, but the reliever made 58 appearances for the Blue Jays in 2019, compiling a 4.90 ERA and 1.66 WHIP. He'd likely work in middle relief if he does make the final roster, but he would need to be added to the 40-man roster considering he was a non-roster invitee to spring training.

Law announced Monday via his personal Twitter account that he agreed to a minor-league contract with the Twins that includes an invitation to big-league spring training.
EDGE Analysis
According to Darren Wolfson of Channel 5 Saint Paul, Law's deal is worth $750,000 at the big-league level and contains an opt-out clause. Law was assigned to the Rangers' alternate training site Sunday, Levi Weaver of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Law worked as a non-roster invitee during summer camp, but he'll head to the team's alternate facility with less than a week remaining until Opening Day. The 29-year-old has some experience as a closer in the past and could be one of the team's top options to fill in if injuries pile up in the bullpen even though he isn't currently on the 40-man roster.

Law was named to the Rangers' 60-man player pool Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
Law, who is not on the 40-man roster, has 167 games of MLB experience over the last four seasons with the Giants and Blue Jays. He was used to close some games for Toronto when closer Ken Giles dealt with an elbow injury and was away on a paternity leave. Many relievers would need to be hurt for the Rangers to turn to Law as a closer, but his experience could make him one of the first callups should an injury hit the bullpen. The 29-year-old right-hander posted a 4.90 ERA, 1.66 WHIP and 67:40 K:BB ratio over 60.2 innings in 2019.

Law signed a minor-league contract with the Rangers on Thursday, Jeff Wilson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports. The contract includes an invitation to spring training.
EDGE Analysis
Law is headed south after being non-tendered by the Blue Jays in December. Across 58 appearances with Toronto in 2019, the righty posted a 4.90 ERA, 1.66 WHIP and 67:40 K:BB in 60.2 innings. He'll compete for one of the Rangers' final bullpen spots during spring camp.

Law allowed one earned run on two hits and two walks while striking out none in the ninth inning to earn the save Wednesday against the Orioles.
EDGE Analysis
Law was called upon to protect a two-run lead in the ninth inning. He made things interesting by allowing four of the first five batters he faced to reach base, prior to recording the final out with the bases loaded. He now has five saves on the season, though Ken Giles still in place as the team's primary closer which will leave Law with inconsistent save opportunities at best to close the season.

Law pitched 1.2 innings Saturday, allowing just two walks and striking out two to earn the save in a 7-5 win over the Mariners.
EDGE Analysis
It's Law's fourth save of the year, all of which have come in August. Over 11 appearances, the right-hander has pitched to a 2.08 ERA this month. For the year, Law has a 4.96 ERA and 1.55 WHIP with 56 strikeouts in 49 innings. It's expected Law will return to a set-up role when Ken Giles returns from the paternity list.

Law (0-2) took the loss Thursday against the Dodgers, giving up three runs on three hits and a walk over two-thirds of an inning to blow his first save of the season.
EDGE Analysis
With Ken Giles on the paternity list, Law was back in the saddle as Toronto's closer but he couldn't get the job done, ruining a combined shutout bid and handing the Dodgers another walkoff win. The loss snapped the right-hander's 14-appearance scoreless streak, but on the year Law still has a 5.13 ERA, 1.56 WHIP and 54:28 K:BB through 47.1 innings.

EDGE Analysis
The 28-year-old took the mound with two outs and nobody on during the eighth, and while he allowed a single to the first batter, he struck out the next hitter and faced the minimum in the ninth. Law is 0-1 with three saves, 4.95 ERA, 1.53 WHIP and 51 strikeouts in 43.2 innings this season.
