Cameron cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Norfolk on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Cameron was claimed off waivers by the Orioles in November but won't retain his spot on the 40-man roster. The 25-year-old appeared in 25 games for Detroit last season but spent most of the campaign at the Triple-A level, where he had a .240/.312/.392 slash line in 98 contests.

The Orioles claimed Cameron off waivers from the Tigers on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
The 25-year-old Cameron, who was drafted by the Astros in 2015 and then traded to the Tigers in 2017 as part of the deal that sent Justin Verlander to Houston, will be moving on to his third organization. Since reaching the big leagues for the first time in 2020, Cameron has struggled to stick at baseball's top level, slashing .223/.288/.364 with a 31.6 percent strikeout rate across 244 plate appearances with Detroit over the past three seasons. The Orioles are expected to give Cameron a look in spring training and give him the chance to compete for a reserve role in the outfield, but because he has no minor-league options remaining, he would have to be traded or exposed to waivers if he's not included on the Opening Day roster.

Cameron was optioned to Triple-A Toledo after Tuesday's loss to the Guardians, Jason Beck of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Cameron was recalled from Toledo last week and will return there after going 1-for-8 with a walk and a run in three games. Overall he has a .219/.286/.344 slash line with one home run, eight RBI and two stolen bases in 21 big-league games this year.

The Tigers recalled Cameron from Triple-A Toledo on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Cameron will help bolster the Tigers' outfield depth after Robbie Grossman was moved to Atlanta ahead of the trade deadline. The Tigers could deploy the righty-hitting Cameron against left-handed pitching, but he likely won't have a path to a regular spot in the lineup while all of Riley Greene, Willi Castro, Victor Reyes and Akil Baddoo are available.

Cameron (illness) was reinstated from the COVID-19 injured list and optioned to Triple-A Toledo on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
Cameron spent over two weeks on the COVID-19 IL for contact-tracing-related reasons, but he began a rehab assignment in Toledo on Thursday. The 25-year-old went 2-for-10 with a walk and four strikeouts during his rehab stint and will remain with the minor-league club now that he's been reinstated.

Cameron cleared COVID-19 protocols Monday and resumed workouts, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.
EDGE Analysis
Cameron has been on the COVID-19 injured list for nearly two weeks. While he's now cleared protocols, he's expected to work out for the next few days and then begin a rehab assignment, so his return to the active roster is still several days away.

Tigers manager A.J. Hinch said Wednesday that Cameron has yet to clear MLB's COVID-19-related protocols and is without a timeline to rejoin the big club, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.
EDGE Analysis
When Cameron was placed on the COVID-19 injured list last Friday, Hinch noted that the outfielder didn't test positive for the virus and was instead ruled out for the next five days due to contact-tracing-related reasons. Because Cameron isn't eligible to rejoin the team five days later, he's seemingly since tested positive for the virus and will need more time off than expected before being activated. Hinch noted that Cameron will require a minor-league rehab assignment prior to coming off the IL, and it's possible that the 25-year-old may be optioned to Triple-A Toledo once reinstated now that Victor Reyes has taken over as the Tigers' No. 4 outfielder.

Cameron's placement on the COVID-19 injured list Friday was due to contact tracing rather than a positive test, Jason Beck of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Cameron was reportedly a close contact of someone else who tested positive for the virus. He'll be out for a minimum of five days but may not miss any more time than that if he continues to test negative.

Cameron was placed on the injured list for undisclosed reasons Friday.
EDGE Analysis
The Tigers' decision to specify neither the reason for Cameron's absence nor which specific injured list he's been placed on suggests that he's landed on the COVID-19 injured list. Whether or not he's tested positive for the virus himself is unclear, so it's difficult to say when he'll be back. Robbie Grossman (neck) returned from the 10-day injured list to take his spot on the roster.
