Wright had a big day at the plate Monday, going 2-for-3 with his third homer of the season.
EDGE Analysis
Wright's back may be an issue this season, but so far it hasn't acted up on him yet. The third baseman's homer was his first since knocking two against the Phillies on April 18. Wright is now hitting .266 with the three homers and seven RBI this season.

Wright is out of the lineup Saturday against the Giants.
EDGE Analysis
The theme of Wright getting a rest day about once a week continues, and Wilmer Flores will start at third base and hit seventh Saturday. Wright has 14 strikeouts in his last 25 at-bats, but he's getting on base at a solid clip, sitting with a .353 OBP on the season.

Wright will be given the day off Sunday in Atlanta, Adam Rubin of ESPN New York reports.
EDGE Analysis
As part of his maintenance program to ensure he remains healthy all season, Wright will receive his third rest day of 2016. After going 2-for-6 with two RBI and one run scored at the dish Saturday, his slash currently rings in at a respectable .254/.362/.475 in 59 at-bats. In his stead, Wilmer Flores will be given the nod at the hot corner.

Wright blasted two solo home runs - each of them to the opposite field - Monday against the Phillies.
EDGE Analysis
When Wright is right, his power alley is to right-center, where both home runs landed. He benefitted from a day off Sunday, which will occur with additional frequency this year to keep his back as healthy as possible. Wright also made his patented barehanded grab and throw in one motion to return a Phillie, further evidence that his back is feeling good.

Wright will get the day off Sunday, Marc Carig of Newsday reports.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran third baseman will get the day off Sunday after playing in six consecutive games. He is off to an excellent start this season, reaching base safely in every game he's played and slashing .276/.432/.379. With Wright out Sunday, the recently recalled Eric Campbell could be getting the start at the hot corner for the Mets' series finale in Cleveland.

Wright has re-implemented a leg kick at the plate as a way to generate bat speed and take some pressure off his back, the NY Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
This tweak has also enabled Wright to have a better eye at the plate, leading to five walks his first five games played and a .316 batting average. The power has yet to come, but the hope is that better bat speed will generate additional power upon making contact/

Wright went 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored in Sunday's loss to the Phillies.
EDGE Analysis
The Mets have already given Wright a day off in the first week of the season, and it appears as though they will do everything they can to keep him healthy in 2016. The veteran third baseman is still looking for his first homer and RBI of the season, and is hitting a modest .267 (4-for-15) so far.

Wright had an opening game to forget, going 0-for-4 at the plate while also having issues defensively.
EDGE Analysis
Wright struck out with runners at the corners, including the tying run on third, and one out against Wade Davis in the ninth. In the field, his throws from third had no zip, possibly due to his change in arm angle, which was put in place to take pressure off his back. It's the potential inability to square up on good fastballs and possible defensive issues that have brought to light questions on his placement in the batting order along with whether he can handle the hot corner moving forward. Keep an eye on both, as that would impact his playing time in addition to the rest needed due to the stenosis.

Wright (back) will start at third base and bat second in the lineup Sunday at Kansas City, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Mets have advertised that Wright won't play more than 130-135 games in an attempt to keep his back as healthy as possible following a diagnosis of spinal stenosis. He'll look to build upon a .241/.290/.345 spring line in which he launched one home run in 29 at-bats.
