Hale earned his fourth win of the season Friday night, tossing a scoreless 11th inning against the Reds. He allowed a pair of baserunners by issuing a walk and surrendering a hit, but the scoreless frame dropped Hale's season ERA to 2.97. Unfortunately, his skills don't support that level of success, as he's carrying a 32:31 K:BB with 72 hits allowed in 72.2 innings for the Braves this season. Long term, his chances of returning to the rotation appear very slim.

David Hale tossed five innings of one-run ball to help the Braves to a doubleheader sweep of the Phillies on Saturday. It was an impressive spot start for the 26-year-old righty, who gave up only four hits and a walk. He now has a 3.02 ERA on the year and will head back to long relief.

David Hale will make a spot start for the Braves in Saturday's doubleheader against the Phillies. Hale has a 3.14 ERA in 48 2/3 innings this season for the Braves, but he's been pitching out of the bullpen since early May and is doubtful to go very long on Saturday in Philadelphia. The 26-year-old right-hander can be ignored in fantasy leagues.

David Hale will be moved to the Braves' bullpen Friday. Mike Minor (shoulder) is returning Friday against the Giants, so Hale gets the demotion despite posting a 2.31 ERA in four starts. He should be in line for a spot start down the road, but for now will pitch in long relief.

David Hale tossed eight innings of one-run ball Saturday in the Braves' 4-1 win over the Reds. Hale allowed just two Cincinnati hits, and they both came in the first inning. He struck out four and watched his ERA drop from 2.93 to 2.31 in the dominant outing. Unfortunately, the 26-year-old right-hander is likely to lose his rotation spot next week when Mike Minor (shoulder) is activated. But he'll be worth re-adding in fantasy leagues if he gets another shot down the road.

David Hale allowed three runs -- two earned -- on six hits over six innings in a no-decision Sunday against the Mets. Hale allowed one-out singles to David Wright and Daniel Murphy in the sixth inning but appeared to induce a double play ball to end the inning. Instead, Dan Uggla's error allowed an unearned run to score, tying the game and robbing Hale of his first win of the year. Despite the disappointing result, Hale owns a 2.93 ERA through three starts. He'll face the surprisingly tough Marlins lineup on Friday.

David Hale will be skipped in the Braves' rotation. Hale was scheduled to pitch against the Phillies on Tuesday, but the game was postponed due to rain. Julio Teheran will stay on his normal schedule and pitch Wednesday, and Alex Wood will start Thursday's series finale.

David Hale walked five while allowing four runs -- three earned -- in 4 1/3 innings Thursday against the Mets. Hale impressed in his season debut last week against the Nationals, throwing five scoreless innings, but the wildness that plagued him this spring returned tonight. He'll probably lose his rotation spot once Mike Minor comes off the DL in two weeks.

David Hale gave up three runs in 4 1/3 innings Wednesday in a loss to the Yankees. Hale walked three today after issuing two free passes total in his previous three starts. He'll have a spot in Atlanta's rotation initially next month as a result of all of the team's injuries. He might be pushed back into middle relief by mid-to-late April, but he could still have some NL-only value there.

David Hale pitched four innings of one-run ball Friday against the Rays. With Brandon Beachy set to go on the DL and perhaps spend considerable time there, Hale's stock would seem to be on the rise. He could help out in the rotation early next month while Mike Minor and Ervin Santana build stamina and then serve as a swingman afterwards. He's a candidate to have some value in NL-only leagues.
