Angels optioned RHP David Carpenter to Triple-A Salt Lake. The Angels will announce a corresponding roster move on Saturday. Carpenter has a 4.76 ERA and 28/17 K/BB ratio over 39 2/3 innings this season and figures to return when rosters expand in September.
