Bote exited Thursday's game against the Reds due to left shoulder soreness, Maddie Lee of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bote collided with teammate Nico Hoerner attempting to field a groundball in the fourth inning. The injury is particularly concerning because Bote separated his left shoulder on two occasions during the 2021 season and underwent surgery to repair the damage in the offseason. Bote is day-to-day for now, and it wouldn't be a surprise to see him out of the lineup for at least a few days.

EDGE Analysis

Bote isn't in the lineup Saturday against the Cardinals.
EDGE Analysis
Bote made his season debut Friday and went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts. While he should have a chance to carve out regular playing time now that he's healthy, he'll be on the bench Saturday while Christopher Morel shifts to second base with Rafael Ortega starting in center field.

Bote (shoulder/head) went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts in Friday's 3-0 win over the Cardinals.
EDGE Analysis
Friday marked Bote's season debut after he was cleared from the 60-day injured list. The 29-year-old infielder hit an uninspiring .199/.276/.330 across 97 contests for the Cubs last season, but he'll have a chance to carve out playing time on a rebuilding team this year. He's most likely to challenge for playing time at second base initially, and there should be at least a part-time role available to him against all pitchers as the Cubs' infield remains heavy on right-handed hitters.

Bote (shoulder/head) was reinstated from the 60-day injured list Friday, Maddie Lee of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bote missed the start of the year since he underwent offseason shoulder surgery, and he hit a snag in his rehab process earlier in June when he experienced bouts of dizziness. However, he appeared in 18 games during a rehab assignment at Triple-A Iowa, and he slashed .284/.351/.403 with a triple, six doubles, 12 RBI, seven runs and three stolen bases. He should have a chance to carve out playing time in the infield after Jonathan Villar was designated for assignment by the Cubs on Friday.

Bote (shoulder/head) will resume his rehab assignment at Triple-A Iowa on Friday, Tony Andracki of Marquee Sports Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bote got a few days off after experiencing bouts of dizziness last week, but he was cleared to work out over the last few days and will return to game action Friday. The 29-year-old had lackluster results to begin his rehab assignment, as he posted a .497 OPS with two doubles, four runs, two RBI and two stolen bases.

Bote (shoulder/head) has been cleared to resume working out at Triple-A Iowa and could restart his rehab assignment this weekend, Maddie Lee of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bote has been on the shelf all season while recovering from the left shoulder surgery he underwent last November, but it was bouts of dizziness that resulted in him being pulled off his rehab assignment earlier this month. After a two-week respite, Bote's dizzy spells have apparently subsided, so he should soon rejoin the Iowa lineup. The Cubs may want to see Bote experience some more success at Triple-A before activating him; through his first 12 games on assignment, Bote produced a mediocre .497 OPS.

Bote (shoulder) has been pulled from his rehab assignment with Triple-A Iowa on Tuesday after experiencing bouts of dizziness recently, Meghan Montemurro of the Chicago Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bote is scheduled to be evaluated by the Cubs' medical staff before a decision is made on his status moving forward. Through the first 51 plate appearances of his rehab assignment, Bote had struggled to the tune of a .178/.275/.222 slash line. Whenever he's ultimately cleared to come off the 60-day injured list, Bote likely won't be in store for an everyday role with the Cubs.
