Visa issues will prevent Alvarez from traveling with the Orioles to and from Toronto, so the Orioles had to remove him from the major league roster for the time being. Alvarez is expected to be called up again next week.

Alvarez was reassigned to minor league camp after Sunday's game, MASN Sports reports. Alvarez went 2-for-4 with a home run Sunday to finish spring training with slashes of .343/.395/.600 in 35 at-bats with just three strikeouts. The Orioles have difficult decisions to make in the outfield before finalizing the roster and Alvarez is forced to sit in a logjam with those players. However, there is a very good chance he gets an opportunity to play at the MLB this season, with a September call up being the most conservative estimate on his timeframe.
