The Mets optioned Young to Triple-A Syracuse on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Young was expected to be the Mets' roster casualty as a result of Edwin Diaz's (shoulder) return, and his move to Syracuse is now official. The left-hander has allowed just one run in nine innings with the Mets and also boasts a 1.59 ERA in the minors, so it's likely he rejoins New York's bullpen at some point later in the summer.

The Mets optioned Young to Triple-A Syracuse on Wednesday, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.
EDGE Analysis
With Edwin Diaz (shoulder) slated to come off the injured list Thursday, Young will be pushed back to Triple-A in order to free up a roster spot. He's found quite a bit of success in the majors this season, allowing just one run in nine innings while striking out 12 batters and walking four. If he's able to sustain his strong performance in Triple-A, the 30-year-old southpaw would likely be one of the first choices to return to New York if the Mets find themselves in need of a fresh bullpen arm.

Young (2-0) picked up the win Thursday over the Diamondbacks, striking out two batters in a perfect eighth inning.
EDGE Analysis
Entering the game with the score tied 2-2, Young fanned Corbin Carroll and Randal Grichuk and was rewarded when the Mets took their first and only lead of the night in the bottom of the frame. Recalled from Triple-A Syracuse earlier in the day Thursday, Young has made only three big-league appearances this season but has collected a win in two of them, and he has yet to allow an earned run in four innings with a 5:3 K:BB. Given the shambles the Mets bullpen is in, the 30-year-old southpaw could see consistent high-leverage work as long as he remains effective.

The Mets recalled Young from Triple-A Syracuse on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Young will absorb the roster spot vacated by Jorge Lopez, who has been designated for assignment. The left-handed Young threw three scoreless innings with the Mets earlier this season and boasts a 1.59 ERA over 11.1 frames with Syracuse, although he's also issued 11 walks at the latter spot.

The Mets will recall Young from Triple-A Syracuse on Thursday, Will Sammon of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
With the Mets running low on fresh bullpen arms and Jorge Lopez slated to be DFA'd, Young will return to New York for his second big-league stint of the season. The 30-year-old southpaw threw three scoreless innings across two games with the Mets in early May, and he's posted a 1.59 ERA through 11.1 innings in the minors. Although he's had success limiting runs, Young has been known to give up a fair amount of walks, so he will presumably work in middle relief once he officially gets the call to the majors.

The Mets optioned Young to Triple-A Syracuse on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
Young was called up by the Mets on April 28. He appeared in two games, including May 2 against the Cubs when he earned his first major-league win after allowing one unearned run on two hits and a walk while striking out one batter over one frame. Young and right-hander Dedniel Nunez will head down to Triple-A Syracuse, while right-handers Christian Scott and Cole Sulser move up to the big club in corresponding moves.

Young (1-0) earned the win in Thursday's extra-innings victory over the Cubs, allowing one unearned run on two hits and a walk. He struck out one.
EDGE Analysis
Young gave up a leadoff double to Nick Madrigal in the 11th inning, allowing the free runner to score, but he'd hold the Cubs there thanks in large part to Starling Marte, who threw Madrigal out at the plate after he tried to score on a two-out single. The Mets would then walk it off in the bottom half of the frame on Francisco Lindor's two-run double. It's the first win in the majors for Young, who was also making his Mets debut. The left-hander was solid in limited action with Atlanta last season, allowing one earned run while striking out 11 in 8.1 innings. Brooks Raley (elbow) doesn't have a clear timeline for his return, so Young should have a consistent role in New York's bullpen with Jake Diekman being the team's only other left-handed option.

The Mets selected Young's contract from Triple-A Syracuse on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
Fellow lefty reliever Josh Walker was optioned to Syracuse to open up room on the 26-man active roster and in the bullpen for another southpaw in Young. After failing to win a spot in the Mets' Opening Day bullpen while attending camp as a non-roster invitee, Young headed to Triple-A, where he produced a 1.08 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 11:2 K:BB across 8.1 innings before getting the call to the majors.

The Mets reassigned Young to minor-league camp Sunday, Tim Britton of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Young, who posted a 1.08 ERA and 1.08 WHIP over 8.1 innings out of Atlanta's bullpen in 2023, will miss out on a spot in the Mets' Opening Day bullpen. The lefty reliever is expected to head to Triple-A Syracuse to begin his tenure with the Mets.

Young signed a minor-league contract with the Mets on Friday that includes an invitation to spring training.
EDGE Analysis
Young missed much of last season due to hip surgery but it appears he'll be healthy heading into camp. The 29-year-old southpaw has been effective during his limited time in the majors, posting a 2.45 ERA and 17:4 K:BB over 14.2 innings.
