The Mets optioned Mendick to Triple-A Syracuse on Tuesday, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.
EDGE Analysis
Mendick went 0-for-7 with zero walks and one strikeout during his 10-day stay in the majors. DJ Stewart will take his place on New York's bench.

Mendick was recalled by the Mets on Saturday, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Mets are in need of infield depth after trading Eduardo Escobar to the Angels on Friday. Mendick fills that role reasonably well, as he's capable of playing across most of the infield. In 317 plate appearances with Triple-A Syracuse this season, he's maintained a .264/.356/.401 line. Mendick's stay in the majors may be short-lived, as Mark Vientos is a candidate to be recalled as soon as he is eligible to return to the majors.

Mendick was optioned to Triple-A Syracuse on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
Mendick had a .619 slash line in 10 games during spring training and was unable to earn a spot on New York's Opening Day roster. The 29-year-old will serve as organizational depth at Triple-A Syracuse while Tim Locastro and Darin Ruf continue to battle for the final roster spot.

Mendick (knee) will start at second base and bat third Wednesday in the Mets' exhibition game against the Nicaraguan team, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Mendick will be making his spring debut in what marks his first competitive action since he tore the ACL in his right knee and fractured the fibula in his right leg while playing for the White Sox in a June 22, 2022 game. Before suffering the season-ending injury, Mendick was productive in a utility infield role for Chicago, slashing .289/.343/.443 across 106 plate appearances. After joining the Mets on a one-year, $1 million deal over the winter, Mendick should have a good chance of securing a spot on the Opening Day roster and potentially earning a short-side platoon role at second or third base.

Mendick (knee) is expected to begin playing in Grapefruit League games within the next week, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Mendick has been eased into action this spring after he suffered both a fractured fibula and torn ACL in his right leg last June, but the plan calls for him to get a lot of action at a lot of different spots once Mets camp thins out for the World Baseball Classic. The 29-year-old super-utilityman signed a one-year, $1 million contract with New York in December.

Mendick (knee) signed a one-year, $1 million contract with the Mets on Wednesday, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Mendick was somewhat surprisingly non-tendered by the White Sox last month but has managed to land a big-league deal with the Mets. The 29-year-old had surgery to repair a torn ACL in his right knee back in June and it's not clear whether he'll be ready for Opening Day.

The White Sox declined to tender Mendick (knee) a contract for 2023, Scot Gregor of the Chicago Daily Herald reports.
EDGE Analysis
Mendick spent the final three months of the 2022 season on the injured list with a torn ACL. HIs availability for the start of spring training is up in the air.

The White Sox transferred Mendick (knee) from the 10-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Mendick was already going to miss the remainder of the season with a torn ACL, so the move to the 60-day IL is merely procedural. The transaction opens up a spot on the 40-man roster for Eloy Jimenez (hamstring), who is starting in Wednesday's series finale with the Twins after being activated from the 60-day IL.

Mendick was placed on the 10-day injured list with a torn right ACL on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Mendick sustained a knee injury in a collision during Wednesday's game against the Blue Jays, and he'll be forced to miss the remainder of the season after an MRI revealed a torn ACL. The 28-year-old will presumably undergo surgery and get moved to the 60-day IL at some point, while Lenyn Sosa's contract was selected from Double-A Birmingham to provide depth in the infield. It's not yet clear whether Mendick will be ready for the start of the 2023 regular season. He'll wrap up his fourth year in the majors with a .289/.343/.443 slash line to go with three home runs, 22 runs, 15 RBI and a stolen base across 106 plate appearances.

Manager Tony La Russa said Wednesday that Mendick (knee) will receive an MRI, Paul Sullivan of the Chicago Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
Mendick exited Wednesday's game against the Blue Jays due to right knee discomfort, an injury that he sustained during a collision in the top of the second inning. The White Sox will likely have a better idea of the 28-year-old's status once the results of his MRI are known.
