Tigers optioned LHP Daniel Schlereth to Triple-A Toledo. This doesn't come as a surprise, as it had been speculated for the past few days. Schlereth surrendering another home run to Mike Napoli on Saturday certainly didn't help his cause though. Thad Weber will take his place in the Tigers bullpen.

Daniel Schlereth is expected to be optioned to Triple-A Friday. No surprise here, as Schlereth has struggled mightily in the early going, posting a 12.60 ERA and 3.20 WHIP in his first five appearances. Brayan Villarreal is an option to replace him in the bullpen.

The southpaw posted a 4.91 ERA and 1.60 WHIP in 29 total appearances earlier this season for the Tigers but has been fantastic since his demotion to Toledo, putting up a 0.77 ERA and 18/5 K/BB ratio over 11 2/3 frames. He'll likely work in middle relief.
