Kimbrel (back) underwent scans that came back negative after exiting Sunday's game against the Padres, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
While Kimbrel doesn't appear to be dealing with a significant injury after being hit by a comebacker Sunday, manager Dave Roberts said that the right-hander will be unavailable for a few days. Kimbrel has displayed some inconsistency recently, but Roberts said that he's "not even considering" removing the 34-year-old from the closer's role.

Kimbrel exited Sunday's game against the Padres in the top of the ninth inning due to an apparent back injury, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Kimbrel was hit by a comebacker with one out in the top of the ninth inning and initially remained in the game, but he was ultimately removed by a trainer after he gave up a double and a single to the next two batters. The extent of his injury isn't yet clear, and whether he's forced to miss time remains to be seen.

Kimbrel earned the save against the Padres on Thursday, striking out two batters in a perfect ninth inning.
EDGE Analysis
Kimbrel was asked to protect a two-run lead, and he did so successfully without allowing any baserunners. The veteran threw nine of 14 pitches for strikes and fanned multiple batters for the sixth time in his past nine outings. Kimbrel finished June with a 2.70 ERA, 1.60 WHIP and 18:6 K:BB over 10 innings during the month. He picked up four saves in five chances along with one win.

Kimbrel (1-3) earned the win Sunday versus Atlanta. He allowed an unearned run on a hit and a walk with two strikeouts in one inning.
EDGE Analysis
Kimbrel couldn't protect a one-run lead in the 10th inning, allowing a game-tying RBI single to Matt Olson. While that gave Kimbrel a blown save, the Dodgers pulled ahead in the 11th, and Brusdar Graterol was able to lock down the save. Through 24 innings, Kimbrel is 13-for-15 in saves with a 4.13 ERA, 1.54 WHIP and 37:12 K:BB. He's struggling a bit, but given his experience as a closer, the Dodgers are likely to be patient with the veteran right-hander.

Kimbrel gave up a hit and struck out one in a scoreless ninth inning Friday to record his 13th save of the season in a 4-1 win over Atlanta.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran closer hasn't been consistent lately, but he looked good against the club he broke into the majors with and for whom he posted one of most dominant runs ever by a reliever in the early 2010s. Kimbrel has only blown one save this season for the Dodgers despite a disappointing 4.30 ERA, 1.52 WHIP and 35:11 K:BB through 23 innings.

Kimbrel (0-3) took the loss against Cleveland on Sunday, allowing two runs on two hits and two walks while striking out two in one inning.
EDGE Analysis
Kimbrel entered the contest in the ninth inning with the score tied 3-3. He struck out the first batter he faced but then allowed a pair of hits and two walks (one intentional) to the next four batters. The Guardians added a sacrifice fly and netted two total runs in the inning on their way to victory. Kimbrel has been struggling for over a month, posting a 7.30 ERA and 1.86 WHIP while taking three losses and a blown save over his past 13 games. He does have seven saves and a massive 17.5 K/9 over 12.1 innings during that span, and his closer job is probably secure for the time being.

Kimbrel allowed two hits and a walk while striking out three in a scoreless inning to earn the save in Tuesday's 2-0 win over the Angels.
EDGE Analysis
Kimbrel has allowed runs in five of his last seven appearances, and he just avoided doing so Tuesday. He allowed a single to Mike Trout, a double to Shohei Ohtani and a walk to Matt Duffy to load the bases with one out before striking out Jared Walsh and Max Stassi. Despite another brush with danger, Kimbrel is now 12-for-13 in saves chances this season. He's added a 4.19 ERA, 1.45 WHIP and 29:9 K:BB across 19.1 innings, but he lately looks much more like his shaky 2019 and 2020 form than the rebound to dominance he enjoyed last year.

Kimbrel (personal) was activated from the paternity list Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Kimbrel landed on the paternity list Tuesday and is back with the Dodgers after spending a few days with his family. The 34-year-old will reclaim the closer role from Daniel Hudson, who picked up one save during Kimbrel's absence.

The Dodgers placed Kimbrel on the paternity list Tuesday, Eric Stephen of SBNation.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Phil Bickford was recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City to take Kimbrel's spot in the bullpen, but Daniel Hudson likely represents the top option for saves out of the Dodgers' bullpen while the veteran closer is away from the team. According to MLB rules, players placed on the paternity list have to miss at least 1-to-3 games, so Kimbrel could sit out the Dodgers' entire three-game series with the White Sox that begins Tuesday.

Kimbrel (0-2) took the loss during Sunday's 5-4 defeat at the hands of the Mets, allowing an unearned run on one hit with three strikeouts in two innings.
EDGE Analysis
Kimbrel tossed a 1-2-3 ninth inning on 10 pitches but surrendered a leadoff double to J.D. Davis in the 10th that brought home placed runner Pete Alonso and stuck him with the loss. The outing was the 34-year-old's first of more than one inning, though his 19 pitches weren't excessive. The loss accentuates a rough five-game stretch that features six runs surrendered in six innings, two losses and one blown save.
