Moran (head) was optioned to Triple-A Louisville on Monday, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
EDGE Analysis
Moran hasn't played since colliding with the Cardinals' Dylan Carlson on Saturday, but he was cleared of a concussion. The fact that he was optioned rather than placed on the injured list seemingly indicates he's healthy. His role was set to be reduced even if he remained on the roster, as Mike Moustakas returned from the COVID-19 injured list Monday.

Moran isn't dealing with a concussion after exiting Saturday's game against St. Louis with a head injury, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
EDGE Analysis
Moran left the game after colliding with Dylan Carlson. He didn't start Sunday's series finale, but he isn't an everyday starter, so it's unclear to what extent his absence is injury-related.

Moran was optioned to Triple-A Louisville on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
The 29-year-old had a hot stretch in early May in which he homered four times over four games, but he lost out on consistent playing time after Joey Votto was reinstated from the COVID-19 injured list last week. Moran should see more consistent at-bats in the minors and should be one of the top candidates for a call-up if one of the Reds' corner infielders gets hurt.

Moran is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Cubs.
EDGE Analysis
Even with right-hander Kyle Hendricks taking the hill for the Cubs, the lefty-hitting Moran will find himself on the bench for the penultimate game of the series. Moran should still play against right-handed pitching more often than not until Jonathan India (hamstring) returns from the injured list.

Moran is out of the lineup for Sunday's game in Toronto.
EDGE Analysis
Toronto is bringing lefty Yusei Kikuchi to the hill for the series finale, so the lefty-hitting Moran will retreat to the bench as the Reds stock up on extra right-handed bats. Joey Votto's recent return from the COVID-19-related injured list blocks Moran's path to playing time at first base moving forward, but Moran could see steady work against right-handed pitching either while playing third base or serving as a designated hitter.

Moran went 2-for-4 with a home run, a double, a walk, three RBI and three runs during Wednesday's 14-11 win against the Brewers.
EDGE Analysis
The 29-year-old didn't hit a home run through his first 19 games of the season, but he now has four long balls and 12 RBI across across the past four contests. Moran had a .463 OPS for the season prior to this four-game stretch, and he's managed to improve his slash line to .215/.289/.431.

Moran went 2-for-4 with two home runs and six RBI in Sunday's 7-3 win over the Pirates.
EDGE Analysis
Moran gave the Reds the lead with a grand slam off of Heath Hembree in the sixth inning. He later added a two-run shot in the eighth to provide a couple of insurance runs. It was the 29-year-old's first two homers of the year and he improved his season slash line to .208/.274/.340 with 15 RBI.

Moran will start at first base and bat fifth in Wednesday's game against the Brewers.
EDGE Analysis
He'll pick up his second start in a row at first base following Joey Votto's placement on the COVID-19 injured list earlier this week. So long as Votto is out, the lefty-hitting Moran should be a mainstay in the lineup versus right-handed pitching, but the Reds could choose to go with another at first base when lefties are on the mound for the opposition.
