Frazier isn't starting Saturday's game against the Rays.
EDGE Analysis
Frazier had been in the starting lineup in each of the first seven games of the year, but he'll get a day off after he went hitless with six strikeouts in 13 at-bats across the last three games. Brett Gardner will take over in left field Saturday, batting sixth.

Frazier will start in left field and bat ninth Thursday against the Blue Jays.
EDGE Analysis
After a breakthrough 2020 campaign, Frazier is picking up his first career Opening Day start, leaving veteran Brett Gardner to handle fourth-outfielder duties to begin the season. Frazier's placement at the bottom of the lineup isn't especially ideal for fantasy managers, but an assignment in the No. 9 spot of a stacked Yankees offense isn't too punitive. He'll likely have the opportunity to move up in the order when injuries strike or if he can continue to rake like he did last season, when he submitted a .905 OPS over 160 plate appearances.

Frazier appeared to be in pain after sliding into third base during Sunday's Grapefruit League game against Philadelphia, but he merely ripped his tights on a previous slide into second, Marly Rivera of ESPN.com reports. "Clint Frazier is fine, the tights he wears underneath ripped on that slide at second. Nothing much there," manager Aaron Boone indicated after the game.
EDGE Analysis
Mike Tauchman was lifted from the game earlier after fouling a ball off his shin, but the Yankees can breathe a sigh of relief as both players appear to be fine. Frazier logged three at-bats in the contest, collecting a single, stealing a base and scoring a run.

Frazier (undisclosed) will bat fifth and play right field Sunday against Toronto.
EDGE Analysis
Frazier missed Saturday's game against the Orioles, though Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports that he wasn't dealing with anything worse than feeling "sluggish." Given that he's back in the lineup just one day later, there's little reason to worry about his readiness for Opening Day.

Frazier is not in Saturday's spring lineup against the Orioles due to a minor injury, Kristie Ackert of the New York Daily News reports.
EDGE Analysis
While the nature of Frazier's injury isn't clear, the Yankees are giving him an extra day of rest Saturday. However, the team expects that he'll return to action soon, and it's unlikely that Frazier's injury will impact his availability for Opening Day.

Frazier collided with the outfield wall during Tuesday's Grapefruit League game versus Detroit but did not suffer an injury, Marly Rivera of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Frazier hit the left-field wall hard while pursuing a ball that left the park in the fourth inning, and he spent about a minute with the team trainer following the collision. However, Frazier ultimately stayed in the game, and manager Aaron Boone chimed in after the contest to indicate that the outfielder "came out fine." Frazier would be wise to avoid any further interactions with outfield walls moving forward, especially given the fact that he's already been deemed the team's starting left fielder for the coming campaign.

Manager Aaron Boone said Saturday that he still sees Frazier as the team's starting left fielder in 2021, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Boone said Wednesday that Frazier would likely start in left field to begin the 2021 season, but the team re-signed Brett Gardner on Friday. While Gardner should see a fair amount of playing time in the outfield, Frazier is still in line for a starting role early in spring training. The 26-year-old has struggled to get consistent at-bats over his first several seasons with the team but slashed .267/.394/.511 with eight home runs and 26 RBI over 39 games in 2020. It's worth noting that Frazier and Gardner hit from opposite sides of the plate.

Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Wednesday that he envisions Frazier serving as the team's starting left fielder in 2021, Jack Curry of YES Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
Over his first three full seasons in the organization, Frazier struggled to find consistent at-bats in a deep outfield, but he seemingly earned himself an everyday role on the heels of a minor breakout campaign in 2020. The 26-year-old finished as the Yankees' third-best hitter in terms of wRC+ (149) last season, slashing .267/.394/.511 with eight home runs and three stolen bases over 160 plate appearances. Frazier could slot lower in the batting order more frequently in 2021 if Giancarlo Stanton and Aaron Judge can demonstrate better health, but the Yankees' star-studded lineup should still afford him plenty of run-scoring and run-producing opportunities out of a bottom-third spot.

Frazier and the Yankees reached a one-year, $2.1 million deal Friday, avoiding arbitration, Jon Heyman of MLB Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
Frazier appeared in 39 games for the Yankees in 2020, slashing .267/.394/.511 with eight home runs and 26 RBI. He struggled over the final few games of the regular season but should serve as the team's primary left fielder to begin the 2021 campaign.

Frazier went 1-for-2 with a solo home run Monday in the Yankees' 9-3 win over the Rays in Game 1 of the ALDS.
EDGE Analysis
He was the first to get to Blake Snell -- Kyle Higashioka and Aaron Judge touched the lefty up for homers later on. Frazier took a back seat to veteran Brett Gardner in the AL Wild Card Series and it's very possible Gardner will be back in there Tuesday with a righty in Tyler Glasnow starting for Tampa Bay.
