Frazier went 1-for-2 with a double in Wednesday's Cactus League game against the Athletics and is batting .375 overall this spring.
EDGE Analysis
It's a small sample size of just four games, but Frazier looks comfortable so far with his new team. The 27-year-old never really broke through like he was expected to with the Yankees, so maybe a change of scenery will be good for him, particularly if he can earn more playing time. Frazier will be vying for at-bats at DH and as a reserve outfielder for the Cubs, though he could expand his role if he produces in the early going.

Frazier will likely be one of several players that Chicago manager David Ross rotates into the designated hitter spot this season, Gordon Wittenmyer of NBC Sports Chicago reports.
EDGE Analysis
Frazier joined the Cubs in November, and with Ian Happ (elbow) on the mend following surgery in February, the former may see time in left field early on. However, a healthy Happ makes the outfield more crowded, with Rafael Ortega in center and Jason Heyward patrolling right. That could mean more time as the DH for Frazier, though Happ, Willson Contreras and Nick Madrigal (hamstring) are also candidates to see time there.

Frazier signed a one-year major-league contract with the Cubs on Tuesday, Mark Feinsand of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Frazier once had plenty of prospect pedigree and has looked on the verge of a breakout at times, but repeated injury issues have prevented him from establishing himself as an above-average regular. Those issues reached a worrisome point in 2021, when he was limited to 66 games by eye troubles, vertigo and fogginess. If fully healthy, Frazier could be a valuable piece for the Cubs in 2022, but the team may be best served treating that outcome as a pleasant surprise.

Frazier was released by the Yankees on Tuesday, Jon Heyman of MLB Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
Still just 27 years old, Frazier is talented enough that he'll likely interest at least a few teams, as he owns a respectable 105 career wRC+ and hit .267/.347/.497 in 108 games in 2019 and 2020. He struggled significantly in 2021 and wound up being limited to just 66 games by an ailment which left him with eye issues and vertigo. Those issues are beyond the scope of what players who earn the "injury-prone" label typically have to deal with, so he'll carry major question marks heading into 2022.

Frazier, who struggled with vertigo-related issues for most of last season, was designated for assignment by the Yankees on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
This is quite a fall from grace for Frazier, who had a 149 wRC+ in 160 plate appearances in 2020 and then hit .186/.317/.317 in 66 games last season. Given his raw talent, a rebuilding club will likely take a chance on Frazier now that he is on waivers.

GM Brian Cashman said Tuesday that Frazier (eye) recently resumed participating in baseball activities, Brendan Kuty of The Newark Star-Ledger reports.
EDGE Analysis
Frazier missed the final three months of the season while battling fogginess and dizziness, which he was still experiencing as recently as mid-October, but he's apparently overcome most of those issues now that he's doing baseball work. The 27-year-old's outlook entering spring training remains up in the air, but if he continues progressing he should be ready to go come February.

Frazier (eye) continues to experience fogginess and dizziness, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Frazier remains in contact with the Yankees' medical staff about the issue, one which has bothered him since midseason. He doesn't appear to be making much progress with the ailment, and it's difficult to predict when he'll be able to lead a normal life, let alone play baseball.

Frazier (eye) won't return prior to the end of the season, Pete Caldera of The Bergen Record reports.
EDGE Analysis
Frazier was returned from his rehab assignment in mid-August, and manager Aaron Boone confirmed Sunday that the 27-year-old won't rejoin the major-league club this year. The outfielder landed on the injured list in early July due to an eye condition, and he'll now shift his focus toward preparing for spring training in 2022.

Manager Aaron Boone said Sunday that he's uncertain whether Frazier (eye) will be able to return in 2021, Marly Rivera of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Frazier has been sidelined since the end of June due to an eye condition, and he was transferred to the 60-day injured list after his rehab assignment was shut down in mid-August. The Yankees haven't indicated when the 26-year-old could resume a rehab assignment, so he's running out of time to return to the major-league club with just over a month remaining in the regular season.

Frazier (eye) was returned from his rehab assignment and transferred to the 60-day injured list Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Frazier began a rehab assignment last week and went 4-for-10 with a double, a run, a walk and three strikeouts. However, he'll take a step back in his recovery and will require additional time before he resumes game action. The 26-year-old won't be eligible to return from the injured list until the beginning of September, but a timetable for his return isn't yet clear.
