Stewart is out of the lineup for Tuesday's contest with San Francisco.
EDGE Analysis
Stewart is missing his fourth straight game in favor of Jacob Stallings who's getting his second major league start behind the dish. Stewart's fantasy value has degraded recently as he's batting only .188 since the start of June and now shares time at catcher with Erik Kratz and Stallings.

Stewart is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Mets, but passed his concussion tests after taking a hit to the head in Tuesday's contest, Bill Brink of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
EDGE Analysis
Stewart stayed in the game Tuesday after a bat struck his head, but he will get Wednesday off due to several bumps and bruises he suffered. In his place, the Pirates are starting Erik Kratz behind the plate while Francisco Cervelli is on the disabled list due to a hand injury. Stewart should be back in the lineup for Thursday's game.

Stewart (foot) is back in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Mets, Rob Biertempfel of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports.
EDGE Analysis
Stewart injured his foot against the Cardinals during Saturday's game following a collision at the plate. He sat out Sunday's game and will return to the lineup behind the plate, batting eighth Tuesday.

Stewart (foot) is out of the lineup Sunday against the Cardinals.
EDGE Analysis
Stewart was an early exit Saturday after a seventh-inning collision resulted in a foot injury. The ailment will extend his absence to Sunday afternoon, giving way to Erik Kratz to get the start behind the plate. With Francisco Cervelli (hand) now on the disabled list, this is a tough break for Pittsburgh, who may have to rely on Kratz multiple times this week.

Stewart left Saturday's game against the Cardinals in the seventh inning with a left foot injury following a collision at the plate, Bill Brink of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
EDGE Analysis
Making his first start in place of Francisco Cervelli, who was placed on the DL earlier Saturday and ruled out for four-to-six weeks with a broken bone in his left hand, Stewart couldn't get out of the game with his health in tact. He had already been limping around prior to the game after fouling off two pitches on the foot earlier this week, and aggravated the injury after the collision. Stewart's departure forced the Pirates to throw Erik Kratz into the fire right away behind the plate, after the veteran catcher was acquired Saturday from the Angels. It's likely that Stewart will garner the majority of the starts while Cervelli is out, but if Stewart's foot injury ends up sidelining him, Kratz would be next in line for increased opportunities in the lineup.

Stewart is in the lineup, starting at catcher and batting eighth against Colorado on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Stewart is filling in for Francisco Cervelli, who is working his way back from a foot injury. The 34-year-old is making his sixth start in the last nine games and looks to make the most of his playing time given Cervelli is likely reclaim everyday catching duties.

Stewart went 2-for-4 and scored a run in Sunday's loss to the Angels.
EDGE Analysis
Sunday's contest marked Stewart's third straight start while Francisco Cervelli deals with a foot injury. Despite the team losing Sunday's contest, Stewart's performance was mildly relieving to the Pirates, as it put an end to his hitless streak of 13 at-bats. However, with a three-game series against the Mets and their dominant pitching staff on the horizon, it won't be a performance that's easy to replicate.

Stewart has started five of Pittsburgh's first 28 games, hitting .208 in 24 at-bats.
EDGE Analysis
The catcher hit .289 and .294, respectively, in limited play for the Pirates his first two seasons, so there's reason to hope for improvement. Staff ace Gerrit Cole threw his best start with Stewart behind the plate and the two have a strong history working together -- that could mean he makes occasional starts as the team tries to find Cole's groove.

Stewart went 2-for-4 Sunday with a solo shot, his first home run of the season.
EDGE Analysis
He was making his first start of the season behind the plate, as Francisco Cervelli played in the first five games and went 7-for-18 (.289). As long as Cervelli stays hot at the plate, at-bats will be few and far between for Stewart.

Stewart went 0-for-3 with a walk on Monday against the Twins.
EDGE Analysis
Stewart batted .289/.320/.340 during 172 plate appearances in 2015. His career batting average is .238 but his numbers last season indicate what Stewart brings to the Pirates' offense. He doesn't quite have the pop of other players (his last home run came in 2013) but he provides great defense and improves the play of his pitchers, especially Gerrit Cole who went 12-4 with a 2.24 ERA with Stewart as his battery mate.
