Chris Johnson went 0-for-4 in Friday's loss and is without an RBI since June 26.
He has, however, fanned 14 times since then. Matt Dominguez didn't look like much of a threat to Johnson's job in the short-term, but Johnson does need to step up the power production in the second half if he's going to remain in Houston's plans for 2013.

Chris Johnson (side) hit off a tee and took ground balls Tuesday.
Johnson missed his third straight game Tuesday due to a left side strain. Astros manager Brad Mills hasn't ruled out the possibility that he could return before the team leaves Pittsburgh.

Chris Johnson (side) is still a couple of days away from returning to the starting lineup.
Johnson hasn't played since Saturday due to a strained muscle in his left side. "I woke up today and it felt better," said Johnson. "They told me not to hit today, and hopefully, tomorrow I can come in and swing the bat. Right now, we're just day to day." Scott Moore made the start at third base on Monday night.

Chris Johnson was scratched from Sunday's lineup with a left lat strain.
It's not clear at this point how severe the ailment is. Johnson is replaced at third base by Matt Downs.

Chris Johnson went 2-for-4 with a run scored in Saturday's loss to the Cubs.
On a day when the Astros offense wasn't able to get much going against Matt Garza and company, Johnson still managed to produce a couple of singles. He was an after-thought to make the Astros roster out of spring training, and is enjoying a very nice season to date, hitting .280 with six homers and 34 RBI. With as weak as most lower tier options are at third base, Johnson has plenty of value as a third baseman or corner infielder in deeper formats.

Chris Johnson went 3-for-3 with his 25th RBI in Wednesday's loss to the Rockies.
The multi-hit game was Johnson's eighth of the month. He'll enter the final day of May batting .318 with five home runs and 17 RBI through 85 at-bats this month. For the season, he's now batting .298/.331/.444. Perhaps Johnson is actually here to stay in deeper mixed leagues.

Chris Johnson was ejected from Tuesday's game after slamming his helmet to the ground in protest of a call at first base.
It was a culmination of frustration for Johnson, as he was also unhappy with a called strike three in his first at-bat. Matt Downs replaced him at third base.

Chris Johnson went 2-for-4 with a three-run homer and two runs scored Monday against the Cubs.
It was his fifth home run of the season and his first since May 9. Johnson has only walked five times thus far, hence his mediocre .318 on-base percentage, but he still has a solid .286 batting average through 38 games. We still have our doubts about whether he'll be able to keep it up, but he's worth a shot outside of shallow mixed leagues.
