Chris Heisey is starting in left field and leading off for the Reds against the Orioles on Friday. Tonight will be Heisey's eighth start in 10 games going back to June 13. Maybe Reds manager Dusty Baker is finally starting to agree with a fanbase and fantasy community that has been clamoring for more playing time for Heisey for some time now. The man he's attempting to steal playing time away from, Jonny Gomes, is starting at designated hitter this evening.

Chris Heisey lit up the Yankees on Wednesday evening, homering three times while picking up five RBI in a 10-2 Reds victory. The win helped the Reds salvage a split of the teams' double-header, and avoid a three-game sweep. Heisey's first two bombs came off journeyman starter Brian Gordon, while the third was courtesy of Hector Noesi. Both the three home-run game and multi-homer effort were the first of Heisey's career. The three home runs are 18.8 percent of Heisey's career total of 16. Slowly but surely, he appears to be turning himself into Cincinnati's primary left fielder, though Jonny Gomes also homered this evening.
