Buy Low(er) - Dynasty Baseball Players Due For A Rebound rotoballer.com Tue 12/4/18 9:15 AM
Dynasty teams are great to own and develop; they are my favorite teams to manage actually. In real life and fantasy, there are managers who find happiness by having a finished organization that can run itself with very little decision-making on their part. There are other people who find pleasure building an organization up and making it better. I am the latter. I get bored if I ultimately have upper-tier players at every position. One of the keys to building a great team is to build with value.[...]
Chris Archer Undergoes Surgery rotoballer.com Tue 11/27/18 5:39 PM
Pittsburgh Pirates starting pitcher Chris Archer (hernia) underwent surgery on Tuesday to fix a bilateral hernia. The recovery time for this procedure is six weeks, so he's expected to be on schedule for the start of spring training in 2019. Archer was mostly a disappointment in 2018 between the Rays and Pirates, going 6-8 with a 4.31 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 162 strikeouts in 148 1/3 innings over 27 starts. [...]
Passing the Buc - Former Pirates Prospects to Watch rotoballer.com Sun 11/18/18 9:30 AM
The offseason hot stove is well underway, and major deals are already happening. Now, take major with a grain of salt, because if this is the best that baseball fans get, it will be a long winter. And yet, under the hood, the first few moves have fantasy implications that can affect early drafts, or owners as they prepare for their own version of the winter meetings. The one common thread through both early trades has been the presence of former Pittsburgh Pirates prospects; one on the move, and [...]
Tommy Pham: Fantasy Baseball Year-in-Review rotoballer.com Sat 11/17/18 10:45 AM
Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Tommy Pham was a hot name in fantasy circles coming into the 2018 season. A late bloomer, Pham had an .824 OPS in his first stretch of playing time in 2015 (173 plate appearances) before taking a bit of a step back in 2016 and breaking out in 2017. Pham slashed .306/.411/.520 for the Cardinals in 2017, hitting 23 home runs and stealing 25 bases. [...]
MLB Year-in-Review: Chris Archer (SP, PIT) rotoballer.com Fri 11/16/18 10:10 AM
Pittsburgh Pirates starting pitcher Chris Archer came into the 2018 season with the Tampa Bay Rays as a known commodity of a strikeout pitcher. Archer, who had pitched at least 200 innings in each season from 2015-2017, topped 200 strikeouts in each of those seasons as well. He was lacking in wins, 12 in 2015 is a career-high, and his ERA rose in each season, but the promise for strikeouts made him a decent SP3-type. Plus, while his ERA was 4.07 in 2017, his FIP was only 3.40 and he struck out 1[...]

Jose Alvarado (RP, TB) - Week 25 Waiver Wire Pickups rotoballer.com Fri 9/14/18 11:06 AM
BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 27% of leagues
ANALYSIS: Tampa Bay Rays relief pitcher Jose Alvarado should be owned in more leagues based on his 2.14 ERA alone, but, here we are, with him free in more than 70% of leagues. Yes, he has walked 4.12 batters per nine on the season, but that ratio is down to just 3.48 per nine in the second half. Oh yeah, he is also the primary closer for the surging Rays.
While his 11.32 strikeouts per nine are enticing and he has only walke[...]
